A complete story with readable grammar, and an actual plot.

I would say that is more than reasonable. :) I hate bad writing!

You wouldn't believe how many stories on this site don't even fit that criteria :P XD

Alright, aside from what Tan said-- I like a story with a lot of choices. Not so many that it's overwhelming, but give me replay ability, different choices, different pathways, and different endings... I like options. I like the fantasy genre a lot. I'm a sucker for a good fantasy world.... I'm also intensely fond of horror, particularly if it's psychological. I like dark humor... I like good battle stories or good puzzle adventures.

I also have a bit of a weakness for--don't laugh--dating sims. No, I'm not "a really lonely guy" (I'm engaged now, actually) but thing is... it's like a different kind of puzzle.  I like figuring out the personalities of the characters, what makes them tick, what makes 'em happy or pisses them off...

The thing is, I despise almost every dating sim / romance related game I've played because a lot of them suck. I like the -concept-, but the girls often fall flat / are easy to get... if there's no depth to a character, why should I bother caring about them enough to try to date them? Why would I date an air-head? (Screw, maybe. Date? Hell f*cking naw, man.)

And lastly... I like a challenge.

I like me some horror, fantasy, sci-fi, post-apocalyptic, or zombie. I have yet to read a text game where I can get attached to any characters like I can with novels, all the game characters I've seen so far have been poorly written, just plot mouthpieces or plain boring. I'd like to play a game that had some memorable locations.

I'm also searching for a story that has good choice-based combat. Not just "Attack" and it rolls some dice for you, but where the choices actually require some deliberation. You don't have to put this in your game, I'm just searching...

I like a game that actually captures me. Takes me into it's depths and swallows me whole. I want to feel as if I'm really there. In short, really good detail and emotion. Don't become Stephen King with the detail though.

A story with an overall plot that would be less obvious but more important than the actual hero and his plot. It's always interesting when several books are connected to one another but have their own stories.
