I need some help, I have no experience with what is above what in the terms of military ranks. I'm working on a game involving war, and I want people to be able to choose different ranks for different perspectives in a platoon. What should the lowest rank be and what should the highest rank be? I need a total of 10 ranks. They don't have to be consecutive, such as rank 1 is directly under rank 2, but rank 2 can be a couple tiers higher than rank 1. I just need a variety perspective, and I don't know how military ranks go. :(

Can I ask what era/age that this story is in?

It's fantasized, but when I started it was based on WWI, WWII, and Vietnam. But I've taken inspiration from civil wars around the world, and other battles. So, definitely not a modern war. Probably pre-1990
