ETA 3 hours.
Stream link (if anyone's interested): http://www.suptv.org/
edit: Also, 500 posts.
You watching it tonight? I plan to.
Naturally. ETA 50 minutes.
I know, HBO has a free preview since Game of Thrones is coming back. I wonder if it going to be as good as I hope it is.
Alternate link is comfy.zone. Can confirm it's working. Smooth as fuck 2
Yep...
What? You thought that was disappointing? I thought it was really good.
I get that they have to set the season up, but it barely felt like much happened at all. Didn't even feel like half an hour, that's how short it all felt.
==SPOILERS==
Theon helps Sansa escape. They get found, Brienne and Pod rescue the pair. Cut. Cersei gets word of Jaime's return, they see each other and she closes her eyes. Cut. Tyrion and Varys walk and talk, and they come upon the ships, burned. Cut. In Dorne, in like two minutes, they kill off the only interesting characters left in that area (Doran and his bodyguard I don't remember the name of). At the Wall, Davos finds and recovers Jons body and protects it with a few of the Night's Watch. The last shot is the reveal is that Mel is now old, for some reason. End episode.
Maybe it's not that nothing happened, but they rushed what did happen?
Yeah I admit they tried to show to much of the story in the first episode, they needed more time to go into more detail.
I'm pretty sure her necklace gives her youth, or the appearance of it. Anyway, yeah, quite rushed and no Bran. You skipped the weird scene with Blind Aria and Dany being sent to Dothraki capital to live with all the other Khalid Widows.
That site didn’t work. Just kept showing some Beyonce black lives matter video, then the guy was watching old man/young girl porn and apologized for fucking up. Finally the screen turned black and never loaded again. Anyway, doesn’t matter, saw the episode anyway.
It was okay. Didn't expect the first episode to have any major shit going down anyway.
Did the porn thing actually happen? Haha
It was more of a still image, but yeah it was on for awhile and then all of a sudden the guy was like "Sorry, my fault. Everyone just refresh."
Lmao
Stayed up till three in the morning, but I watched it. Fuck me, that was good.
SPOILERS
Shot, who would've guessed the Red Lady was a crone? It reminded me of the titular witch from the great new horror The Witch. Daenyrs storyline seems like its going to stretch painfully out like her plots tend to, and I'm super disappointed they killed the cool wheelchair King of Dorne and his bad ass bodyguard with the spear thingy. Other than that, there wasn't much movement on the King's Landing Front or with Bran or Aria, as her scene was shitty. Bah, the episode was too short. Always is.
It felt like mostly they wanted to make sure (unlike walking dead) they dealt with all the cliffhangers from last season.
Fuck the Sand Snakes, that's all I have to say.
Yeah, the Sand Skanks/Dorne shit has always been stupid.
500? Hah, you are like small child.
Bumping this for tonight's episode (might as well keep the entire season in one thread). T-20 minutes @ comfy.zone
Much better episode without the sand skanks and Dorne.
Glad to see them focus back on the ironborn as well.
Was I supposed to know who that guy was? And why wasn't he around later when they found Balor? It's a farking island, he can't just have showed up out of nowhere and be hiding now.
"The first storm and the last" is Euron Greyjoy.
e: Little miffed he doesn't have an eyepatch.
e2: Also, all of the shots set in the Iron Islands were absolutely gorgeous.
Yeah, the Greyjoys should be taking a more prominent role this season, which is good 'cos I like Asha/Yara... And I remember the Sand Snakes in the book being considerably less annoying
And it doesn't even matter that they renamed her, because Tonks vanished with Rickon (still my favorite part of that Downfall clip.)
Yeah, I don't get why they figured they needed to change her name because it sounded too much like Osha... I mean we've had Tyrion and Tywin, Varys and Viserys, Melisandre and Missandei, Bran and Bronn... I think we can cope.
Tyrion's scene was unexpectedly adorable.
Hey, Missandei! The dragons like you, right? Cool, I'm gonna go down there all alone and hope they understand Westerosi. Despite the fact that Dany mostly spoke to them in Valyrian. Maybe they're telepathic.
Yeah, that was weird. Why didn't he just take Missandei with him?
That explains everything ^_^
That last scene was expected, but it still made me happy. I hope Ollie gets punched in his cunt face.
These folks that get super pissed off about whatever atrocity Ramsay is committing this week are really silly. It’s like geez, when we were introduced to this guy, he killed his own men for the sole purpose for trolling Theon who he already had tortured to shit by that point. Then he cuts the guy’s cock off and mentally breaks the dude enough into being a slave. Really shouldn’t be all that surprising when he’s doing shit like ass raping Sansa, killing his dad and feeding his little brother and step mom to his dogs. (Oddly, I felt a little more sorry for Fat Walda than I ever did for Sansa, which is never) Oh well. I’ll miss the character when they finally kill him off this season. Hopefully Euron fills in the gap, either that or the Night King starts pushing south of the wall soon.
This entire show could've been averted if Lyanna hadn't run off with a guy like a hussy, the bodycount for Sansa is still pretty low.
The only problem I have with Ramsay killing his father is it's short sighted as hell. It definitely fits his character, but Ramsay isn't nearly as clever or experienced at politiciking as Roose is. He's pretty much ruined his chances with all the houses, especially if he attacks The Wall/Castle Black.
My wife despises Ramsey. She's like:
I'm just sick of Ramsey. He's boring. I've become jaded by the constant stream of "oh look at this atrocity isn't it horrible"
Also, he's got no personality beyond "oh my god you guys, I swear I'm the most evil thing ever!!"
I think part of her being *so* annoyed by him is that she absolutely adored Simon from Misfits, so she'd like to be able to like Iwan Rheon in this role too.
Conversely, my wife really likes him. When Ramsay did the whole I prefer being an only child line, she said, “Wow, that’s like exactly something you would have said. I sometimes feel like they based Ramsay on you and just exaggerated the personality a little.”
Lol! Nah, Ramsey's too dumb. I think if you were a Game of Thrones character, you'd be Little Finger.
Now I need to think of some for the others... Berka would be Varys, Seth would be Bronn, Kiel would probably be Davos and of course Aman would be Syrio Forel. ^_^
Wait what? Bronn?! @briar_rose you're joking, right? XD
What? It's a compliment, Bronn's awesome! ^_^
lol the only fictional character I can remember my wife comparing me to is the little kid from Room. The part in the beginning where he's going around the room saying hello to the furniture; she was like "oh my god it's like living with you."
Funnily enough, I have the opposite problem. I'm not sure why, but I don't find Ramsey anywhere near as awesomely detestable as Joffrey. I mean he's just as evil, probably even more evil, but he's just not as hateable... Which is a shame because I enjoy hateable characters. It's just fun to hate them. ^_^
Maybe it's because Ramsey's not so much as a pussy as Joffrey was. Joffrey used to like bragging about how he was going to unleash his wrath upon his enemies and then hide and cry behind his mother's skirt as soon as anybody said "boo" to him. At least Ramsey actually gets stuff done.
Even Joffrey had a couple of moments where I didn’t completely hate him. I never ever liked Joffrey, but there were a few bits where I found him amusing. (Always found it funny when he tried to act like a halfway normal person around Margery since she was fairly good at manipulating him) If I had to list villains that I really didn’t like my top three would be: Meryn Trant Janos Slynt Rast Granted they aren’t major players, there was something just REALLY unlikable about these three even though you got folks like the Mountain and Joffrey doing way worse things.
I just plain never liked Catelyn regardless of her place as a villain or not. Allister Thorn is one of those characters I dislike more because he’s a charmless short sighted asshole rather than being a villain of sorts.
I quite liked Stannis as a villain, or during his transformation to one.
A part of me still likes Thorne (mostly become of The Watchers on the Wall episode). Catelyn was dumb, didn't deserve to die, though.
Yeah, Catelyn Stark was one of my least favorite characters along with Stannis and Victarion Greyjoy (he's not in the show yet.)
I just really don't like characters that act like douche bags and still think of themselves as "good guys." Particularly since I think they were designed to be likeable characters... And a lot of people did like them. I'm really surprised by the amount of people who thought Stannis was a "noble" character and that he would make a good king. To me personally, he seemed a lot more interested in getting power for himself than he did in doing what was right by the people. Also the God that he was constantly making human sacrifices for, he didn't seem very devout to. His attitude to the God seemed more along the lines of, "well, he gets the job done, so might as well burn some people for him." But he still seemed to think of himself as just, fair and noble... Even though he never did anything that was just, fair or noble.
I just really don't like characters that act like douche bags and still think of themselves as "good guys." That’s pretty much the entire Faith Militant. Not fond of that group at all either.
Hell, I'd even take the Lord of Light fanatics over the Faith Militant.
That's true too, but since they're not bothering to make any friends, only really powerful enemies, at least I can take satisfaction in the fact that they'll probably all have died really, really horrible deaths by the end of the season.
The show butchered Stannis.

https://i.imgur.com/dDrkK74.jpg
...Very good point.
I get the weird sense we're supposed to be rooting for Stannis, but I really can't feel that much for him. I mean, they've already established that the eldritch abomination who wants him to be king/is inside him is a fearmongering, violent asshole who wants people burned at the stake, and his priestess is a witch who gives people dick leeches and gives birth to murder demons. I know there's another guy who resurrects people, but are we just gonna ignore those previous things? I don't get how some people support him. Especially after all the bullshit they pulled in the show.
I didn't like Catelyn either.
Show stannis seemed to me like he didn't think the lord of light was a good god, but what else can you do when you've seen miracles?
Yeah, poor Fat Walda. She was cool
Just got back from eating out. Bumparoo. No point in posting/recommending a stream link this late, and AFAIK, there's no torrents this early, either. Chillnfix usually puts up a stream after it's finished airing live (http://chillnflix.to/episodes/game-of-thrones-6x3/)
Hah, Arthur Dane got shanked in the back of the neck like a scrub.
That would've been the biggest FU to fans ever. Arthur Dayne is the greatest knight fighter swordsman in ASOIAF history. Ned is decent, but he's no where near being at the level of great.
I still don't know why they felt the need to have him dual wield swords. Definitely wasn't as good as it should have been.
Well, if Tormund and Brienne get together they could potentially spawn a new race of Giants.
God, I hate Ramsay so much. Plot armoured cunt. Him and Brienne need to stop killing good characters.
He just killed Osha, I hardly think she was all that great of a character. I was done with her a long time ago (Rickon too for that matter), glad they didn't bother keeping her around and just got it over with.
She was a good character. Even Martin admitted she portrayed the character better than he had written her. Go back and watch her scenes.
Edit: And that was more of the edge that pushed me over the line.
Edit2: Also just in general, no matter whether or not you think she's a good character, she's way better than Ramsay's one note "lol i'm evil" shit.
I know what George said about her and I know she’s got a fan base, but I just ultimately never gave a shit if she lived or died. Just wasn’t a character I cared about. That’s pretty much how I feel about with most of the people Bran ever traveled with, including Bran himself, though he's finally somewhat interesting this season now that his scenes mostly consist of flashbacks.
In retrospect, I didn't realize how stupid of an expression this was... https://i.imgur.com/unoCQ3g.png
That's what you get with Daenerys Mary Sue Targaryen
D&D are just like "Woohoo, finally free of George's books altogether! We can REALLY do whatever the fuck we want now! Yeah!"
Do Targaryens become immune to fire once they "bond" to their dragons?
Granny, thanks for asking that. It gives me a chance to clear up a common misconception. TARGARYENS ARE NOT IMMUNE TO FIRE! The birth of Dany's dragons was unique, magical, wonderous, a miracle. She is called The Unburnt because she walked into the flames and lived. But her brother sure as hell wasn't immune to that molten gold.
So she won't be able to do it again?
Like Endmaster said, it's just a huge deviation from the books.
The Khals are retarded? lol that's all I got.
I think a lot of the inconsistencies that have popped up this season (the hounds disappearing during Brienne rescuing Sansa, the Khals apparently not noticing oil in that building, the weird time thing between the sand snakes on the docks, then on the ship killing Trystane) is because their rushing plotlines / not having enough time to devote to each one.
Even after axing Dorne, there's Yara/Theon/Euron/Aeron and the Kingsmoot, Cersei, Jamie, Ser Robert Strong, Olenna/Margarey/Loras, and the High Sparrow at King's Landing, Jon/Sansa at the Wall and inevitably Snowbowl, Littlefinger manipulating Little Arryn and his part in Snowbowl, Daenerys gaining the Dothraki, and the [probable] descent into the Mad Queen, the gang at Mereen dealing with the Slavers, Ramsay's BS at Winterfell,
That's 7 plotlines, and we'll even remove Ramsay's since it was just a few minutes. So 6 plotlines, and excluding all filler like the intro, the credits, and the recap, there's about 55 minutes. That only leaves 9 minutes on average for each location. Not very much time...
Gotta love how they did a fantasy version of the old grenade-self sacrifice to temporarily hold back the ice zombies.
I was sort of hoping the Reed girl would get killed, I'm sort of done with her and never found her or her brother interesting. But I guess with Hodor dead, someone has to drag Bran's boring crippled ass around.
At least the show finally freed the penis.
DONG SQUAD 420
'Twas a shame... I was really hoping Hodor would win, but now I have to go back to Team Tyrion, even if he is just kissing Mary-Sue ass at this point in a desperate attempt for George to get us to like her and her fucking bullshit.
Personally I’m hoping D&D just trolls everyone at this point and keeps Ramsay alive and kills off Sansa in her attempt to retake Winterfell.
NOOOOO!!! ... Why? Why Hodor? Anyone but Hodor!
Same here. He's just too awesome :'(
I know what you mean. He was one of the only innocent and one of the strongest(physically) characters on the show and he died at the hands of some skeletons and zombies... he deserved better.
I dunno, you could say he got at least a heroic death, which is more than most people get in Game of Thrones. Though yeah, I would have rather the Reed girl gotten killed and Hodor dragged Bran out instead.
I don't actually think Bran was controlling Hodor at that point. He didn't really seem to be aware of what was going on... Which means Hodor willingly sacrificed himself to save them... Which would probably be the most heroic death the show's seen so far ^_^
Well fuck me. They killed one of the last direwolves and Hodor in one sweep. It's interesting that Euron wants to join with Dany. It seems interesting that he's the only one who realizes she's super important. Well done for him. I thought he'd be crazier from what I saw of him earlier. I kind of imagine he has a Kraken hidden away somewhere. I mean, starks get wolves, Targaeryens get dragons, they deserve a Kraken. I'm also hoping Shaggydog turns out to be alive, to give the Starks a chance, and for a bit of Varys revenge.
I just want to know what happened to Nymeria. She's long overdue a comeback
Actually, thinking about Game of Thrones, there seems to be some pretty big scaling issues. The massive army of Stannis was crushed trying to take King's Landing, yet the massive army Mance Raider which included Giants atop mammoths was decimated by them, and then Stannis' was defeated after a single raid somehow crippled his army and they led a suicidal charge. Dany has an army of badass soldiers who can't feel pain, reinforced by one of the largest mercenary armies there is, yet they let the defeated Masters take back their cities despite being hugely outnumbered. It seems which army will triump is entirely based on what the plot needs.
The wildling's were the most organized they had ever been, that was why they were so scary. But fair point, I forgot Stannis had visited the Iron Bank. They must be pissed right now.
I think the debt just ends up falling to the living lords that were sided with Stannis and Dragonstone property. I forget exactly how it goes, but apparently the Iron Bank always has a back up plan so they get their money eventually.
Plus, what they loaned Stannis is considered a drop in the bucket compared to what the Iron Throne owes them.
Is it just me or does season 6 seem to have been made for the sole purpose of killing off as many minor characters as possible so we don't have so many people to catch up on in the next season?
I think they have killed at least one person each episode this season so far.
Makes sense I guess since I think next season is going to be the last one.
Yes they have, in this episode, they actually killed two actually. The Three Eyed Crow(or Bloodraven as some people know him) and Hodor.
Well, if this season is supposed to represent the Winds of Winter book that George is currently writing, then yes, the next season WILL be the final season.
And Summer.
And a White Walker.
And a bunch of wights.
#wightlivesmatter
And that's just one episode. If we look at all the characters that've died in season 6 so far, we've got Doran and Trystane Martell, Balon Greyjoy, Ser Alliser, Olly and the two other Night's Watch guys, Roose Bolten, Fat Walda and her baby, Shaggy Dog, Osha, Khal Moro and his followers, and as mentioned, The Three Eyed Raven, Summer, Hodor, all of The Children and a bunch of White Walkers.
... Damn, I bet Podrick, Tommen, Loras and Gilly are pissing themselves right now. We should start taking bets on who goes next. My money's on Loras. ^_^
Nah, Tommen will last long enough to become a religious fanatic who sides with the high sparrows, and Podrick's my favorite minor character, so I'm hoping he sticks it out.
Lol, nah, they don't have time to drag on their religious fanatic related plot. The high-sparrow and his followers will be dead by the end of season 6, I bet.
As far as who'll kick the bucket next, maybe they'll just bring Gendry back so that they can kill him off 5 minutes later. (That's if he hasn't already died of exhaustion, considering he's spent the last 3 seasons rowing.)
I'd love if Theon just found Gendry's skeleton on a rowboat.
And Euron Greyjoy for a second there.
Hold the door
Wow, not a single person got killed this episode!
The Mad King. It counts even though it was a flashback.
A few wights died. I think I remember you saying #wightlivesmatter.
Finally decided to check the show out. Really good stuff. Probably going to watch it now.
Glad to see "Dark Sansa" prove to be just as useless as the old Sansa.
For all her tough talk she's basically going to whimper for Little Finger's help as usual.
Yeah, what the heck is this? I thought she was supposed to have like, learned something from the Lannisters and Tyrells and Littlefinger? She was just like "do this or else!"
The only good story in the episode was the one about the siege, and maybe the one about the hound, though I liked that septon guy, and then they hung him. And to think I used to like the Brotherhood without Banners.
I always liked Tywin’s accurate description of the Brotherhood. “What a pretentious name for a bunch of lowly bandits.”
Did Don die permanently in the show? Last I remember he was still alive. I always sort of figured the BWB were just barely qualifying as “freedom fighters” at the best of times since they were mostly made up of deserters/outlaw types anyway. I imagine even those that weren’t directly traveling with Don or Thoros were probably doing some bandit stuff on the side.
But but muh female empowerment
I still maintain that Sansa is pretty much the opposite of female empowerment and I’ve heard some of the better arguments claiming she’s the best character ever. Hell, I think she even makes for a terrible damsel.
MOTHERFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG HOOOOOOOOOOUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNDDDD!
I can imagine lots of folks going to be pissed about how they resolved some of the situations in this episode!
The silliest bit was the whole Terminator/waif thing.
Seriously, I thought the Faceless men were supposed to be skulking about and killing folks silently not running around like a T-1000.
I mean I suppose it doesn't matter how much attention they call to themselves since they can just change faces and nobody will catch them, but like I said, I thought that whole scene was silly.
It was after Qarth, but I don't think that was the Faceless Men, I thought that was the Warlocks trying to get revenge since the assassin had the same blue lips.
This has to be the worst season in the show's history, so far, even more than 5. I don't even care about anyone anymore except for the Hound and maybe Bronn.
Well that episode went pretty much as expected. Ramsay still probably got off pretty light all things considered.
I sort of thought Davos might kill the Red Woman towards the end, but I guess that might be next episode.
Oh god my wife hated this episode's battle.
She says she read that apparently they intended to base it on Agincourt, which would have made a lot more sense with the setting, but for some reason it was over budget, so instead they went with a Carthaginian battle.
Which explains why all of a sudden out of nowhere, Ramsey's forces are farking Roman legionnaires. Seriously- when he fought Stannis, they didn't all have massive tower shields, he didn't have large numbers of spearmen, they didn't act in rigid precision.
Oh and Ramsey was supposed to be smart. Shouldn't he have noticed the Knights of the Vale like, days ago? Maybe even weeks?
And don't get me started on Sansa.
That whole battle was pretty much plot armor for Jon and crew, complete with the “Riders of Rohan” bailing his ass out at the end.
He was still smarter than Jon in this case who just threw away all his battle plans and went wading in like a damn idiot.
Both of them fucked up due to bad writing anyway.
Ramsay could have easily went in there with 20 good men under the cover of night and fucked everything up before the battle even began, recapture Sansa and been ass raping her before breakfast.
Meanwhile Jon could have fucked the Red Woman and had a shadow vagina assassin go stab Ramsay in the back before the battle happened.
Plotwise it was pretty ridiculous. I'm getting annoyed at this point with the army sizes. I mean, when Dany captured the Master's cities and had them crucified, how did they still have a big enough army to then crush Dany's army before the Dragons and Dothraki showed up?
And Rickon was a little bitch. I mean, that bit was just taken from Apocalypto, and clearly he should've been going zig-zag or something. I mean, there was only one guy firing at him. When did Ramsay get these amazing archery skills?
I miss the giant already.
Alright, plotwise it was pure shit, but it was a beautiful battle to watch. I loved that part. Shoul've crucified Ramsay, though. Would've been cooler.
I like how they just wiped out several characters at once.
Overall the episode was better than most of the season.
Lol, had to share this post from the CoG Game of Thrones thread.
“CERSEI FUCKING LANNISTER I AM SO PROUD. But worried, because, let's face it, she probably won't survive the next season, valonqar and all that. At the same time, I'm sad about Margaery. Tommen deserved it. Jon is an ungrateful little shit who a) banned Melisandre and b) took all the credit for being useless while Sansa got nothing. Arya will kill everyone. Daenerys...I hope she forgets about men and marries Yara. Also, R+L=J everyone saw that coming, Jon Targaryen it is. Anyway, this season was epic and this finale was perfect. All the awards.” Could have saved a lot of time and just wrote “I HATE MEN, GURRL POWAR!”
So that's why they call it King's Landing.
Tommen landed alright.
While I figured he was going to do that, something about the way they showed it was really funny.
Where the fuck is Gendry tho? Every minor character except him showed up in season 6.
Dude died of dehydration because he's shit at rowing. His skeleton will wash up in a rowboat in the background of Dany's landing at King's Landing, as an Easter Egg.
My God. That finale has to be one of the best episodes yet.
You're a tad late
I only started watching the show a few weeks ago, in my defense.
A fantastic ending to a shitty season.
