Just wondering if anybody here has ever played magic the gathering or magic online...Pretty addicting card game. I started collecting the cards in 96, but have only been officially playing for about a year now. Definitley not a kiddy game lol
although i dont like to brag, im pretty great at that game. ice age was my favourite set released back in 95. very fun, what is your standard legality library like?
Well, right now im running a mono white knight deck. Hero of Bladehold, Mirran Crusader, Knight Exemplar, etc. Throw in Elspeth and Day of Judgement and its a pretty powerful deck.

im using black green infect giant growths and and plague stinger is a suprisingly powerfull combonation. i allso have three putrafaxs skitherix the blight dragon and even wurmcoild engines. if you drop a day of judgement with my wurmcoil on the feild i will still have two creatures, thats why he is in there
Elspeth Tirel. She's real good, especially combo'ed with hero of bladehold. My friend runs a black/ green infect deck with most of those cards. He has alot of trouble with the knights in my deck that have first strike though. Mirran Crusader + armored accension is a death blow lol.
armoured ascention is devestating i run four in my soldier deck, ive got phrexian crusaders which are completly esential to any infect deck at this point, hand of the praetors is allso awsome im running four, ive won many games purely because of him, well and the feild swarmers that make him so devestating. are you running alot of battle cry stuff?
just my 4 accorder paladins and my 4 hero of bladeholds. When I first saw the battlecry ability I wasn't too fond of it. I reallly started out running a white/artifact infect deck (infect creatures with armored accension, just as dangerous). Then one day I gave the battlecry a chance and now i love it. Really helps out the other creatures in the deck.
Those phrexian crusaders kill me off quick. Can't block em and they always get buffed up one way or another. Do you play magic online?
unfortunately not, i like the idea of putting armoured ascention on preists of norn or ichor claw myr thats actually twice as potent then putting it on a standard dammage creature.
o it was deadly on both of them. I've gotten it on phyrexian juggernaut before too. Turns into a 11/11 (or more) flying creature with infect lol.

Yea I was hooked on it back when I was in 4th grade. Just wasn't my cup of tee. I failed your quiz when I took it so that shows you how much I know about it now lol.

Its just seems to kiddy. Thats why I love magic. Great art, great strategy, and its more of a mature game...Plus I love the fantasy theme
ugilick: yeah, they aren't traditional pokemon, but the game is more creative than original gameboy games. it's in 3d without the glasses nad the pokemon move before and after they attack!

well derp the games are better, they are remakeing the old games right? its because its now possible to make much better games for it. and you just cant beat the original pokemon game in terms of plot and availability of cool pokemon.
i played blue version as a kid and couldnt care less about the poor graphics because nobody new any better. the game was awsome because the pokemon in it were awsome, and the set up that that has spawned an ever increasing number of sequals was awsome.
Yeah, the originals were cool. my first game was FireRed. It had color, but was still the original games, just remade.
they have remade red version? with good graphics and other fun features without adjusting anything else? this pleases me greatly!

Oh my! It is my favorite card game. My favorite deck was composed of cards from every editions, mostly a (black/blue counter spell deck). My thought at that time was, I can never expect what powerful cards they'll come up with next, so with an entire decks of small creatures and counters, I don't even need to care. It isn't like they'll come up with an anti-counter spell card. It would be an oxymoron in itself.
I hate counterspells with a passion now lol. My friend started running an all blue deck about 3 weeks ago. Its stacked with nothing but counter spells and strong sphynxs. I still beat him 3 out of 5 times, but geez the game last forever. I think im gonna try putting in leyline of lifeforce and try to get lucky and draw it in my opening hand, otherwise its useless in my white deck lol
I seriously don't know how you beat him. I had a deck full of rewind counter spells (add 4 life and counters spell), undermine (deal x amount of damage and counter spell), and of course the occasional creature buff for defense especially in case of creature decks. I in particular love mixing it with a black deck since black have several rare cards that respawn 1/1 creatures automatically. If I counter enough, I can pretty much wipe them out. If they have a red deck though, I have blue cards to counteract those too :D
ive used ricochet trap to make a counter spell target intself, there cards that are uncounterable. anyways, with my infect my creatures overrun the feild pretty fast, we wont realy be able to say who would win, but the infect deck i run is very good. im prett busy so i dont get as much time to work with it as i would like.
True, but you don't go into a tournament expecting a person to specialize in counterspells, and even if you had those un-counterable cards or ricochets, are you sure you have an ENTIRE deck filled with those? I'm pretty sure even if you had a few, you'll never outnumber a whole deck of counters.

i dont need to, i only play limited formats like draft or prebuilt. i win on around turn three or five consistantly. if your Entire deck is counters, you wont be able to deal with swarming creatures because they cost less than the counterspells meaning you run out of manna for countering before the low cost creatures use up all the mana in the other players mana pool. do you play standard extended or unlimited?
Scroll up, there are several ways to deal with creatures. My previous comment plz.
your forgetting about recursion, you cant win by countering. just like you cant win by gaining life. how long have you played?
ive read every post in this thread, you realy to heavely on having the right things. my Library function on nearly anything i could draw. i have a nice blend of mana fixing that not only helps me get the correct colors, but if i already have the correct colors, speeds up the speed at which i can hit the field. im not saying it can lose, in fact i find debating this is pointless because we can never sit down and play a game.
