Maybe I'm not as smart of a cookie as I'd like to think I was... And I feel like I'm fairly early on in the storygame, but I need some help.

I've discovered nearly all of the map for the Stronghold only I refuse to go into the Throne Room because there's no way out without death or an early ending. I have no idea what to do with the book because every time I try to get near it, it tries to send entrails out to eat me. So no book, no facing the necromancer. The Zorch Rat I have seems utterly useless, and I've already killed everything in the Stronghold (save for the Necromancer, his Death Knights, or the dark elf that ran away) and the entire zombie village. I have no idea what I need to do to progress... Help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to kill the Entrails (via battle) to get actually get the book from them (and you'll see an Evil Book Icon appear in your Inventory when you do finally get it). The Book will allow you to fight the Necromancer without getting killed instantly.

Once you kill him, you have 1 more hidden encounter if you've already killed everything else. Good luck!  =)

I have killed everything else, went to the private quarters [gain nothing], went back to Kragan's tower, sold the book. and I am now back to the entry hall. What is the "hidden encounter"? Should I go back to the village?

uh, nevermind. Finished the game with lots of clicking towards the end. 

OK no problem. (The hidden Encounter is the Specter BTW)  =)

Specter?...but....ugh...I went back to the village, faced zombies....I thought that was it?

Oops haha! The specter is hiding under the throne room  :)

I just have to know, is there any point to that first alcove in the stronghold?  The one with the dead arm or whatever it was.

Just a place for the door guard to sit (remember the Necrophage cultist?)  :)

Also....what's with the cleaning whisk?  

It' pretty much the secret to how I was formerly the first place player, and is also the secret to the current first place player.  ^-^

So, it actually does have a purpose?  (You don't have to tell me what it is; I just want to know if it's a completely useless object or not.)

All this talk of secret goodies had me yearning for the days when I still held the high score... so I went back and played through again. If I'm not mistaken, I believe I have in fact achieved the new high score:

omg there is going to be a sequel? sweet. I am pretty far into this one right now.
