Hi,

I'm obviously new to this site, trying to create a choose your own adventure for a class project. But I need to find a site that allows the user to add options that can link the reader to another site, for example an option that when clicked upon opens a new tab with a youtube video, and so on. Can this site do this for me? Or do you know of any that can?

Hi, you can certainly have external links in your games. You can also embed Youtube vids - like so...

Hi, You can add external links, but as far as I know you can't actually add a link to another site as a choice in your storygame. If you're using the ritch text editor there's a keystroke to add a link like control l or alt l or something. If your using the normal editor, you enter this to make a link.'I'm using html for this. I'm going to give you a dropbox link with the code you enter in a text file, because it'll show up as a link in the poste if I give an example. Link example Hope that helped.

Ah, yes, I see what you are saying - Yes, you can add an External Link to an In-Game Choice. But, It requires editing the Link # in the Page Script (plus actually knowing the Link # in the first place) - I have never tried to do it, so I don't actually know the details of it.

Killa_Robot might know however...

I can't even see a use for this. If a choice brings you to an external website, then the story ends there, making it rather pointless as a choice. Why can't he just have a normal link on his page that links to the site?

Probably to exploit for advertising, or to provide a video or something of the like for an ending.
