I notice we could hide our comments by highlighting our words in white before, but now it just shows the words in white, against the yellowish background...? It was still working yesterday, so I guess it was fixed sometime yesterday?

It's not really a bug.
Yeah. I know it's not a bug, but before when you change the color of your text to white, it would've been hidden for some reason.
White text is invisible against a white background, not the light tan of the post/site.
I have hidden many words in this thread successfully by changing my text to white. Huh. This is weird. It seems hidden on different computers, and I can see it on other computers.

It depends on the angle of your screen. If you're using a laptop, angling the screen closer to the keyboard will hide the words (Because there is an illusory gain in brightness). If you angle the screen back the contrast is instead emphasized and the difference will be obvious.
And on an ipad you usually see it anyways.
On my Android I can see it also.
