Is it possible to use javascript to open up a pop-up in the game editor?

What about the game description page?

In forums with Source?

The profile page?

I know it's possible with HTML.  With HTML though, you have to make the pages somewhere.  It'd look something like this:

<a href="www.something.com/something" target="_blank">Answer</a>

I said bump.  You know what it it right? lol, You know what it means.  I'm asking if it's possible to use javascript to open up pop-ups on those areas.

The answer is no.  Scripting is disabled in the editor.

You can still use HTML.  Go into source and put in something like this:

Visit <a href="http://www.google.com" target="_blank">Google.</a>.

It would show the following:

Visit Google.

I guess it will have to do.  It takes up excess webspace though for small custom messages.

It would also allow for some nasty "Cross Site Scripting" attacks, too ... this is why the SCRIPT tag is not allowed.

Do you mean like going into a members games etc?

There shouldn't be those pop-ups where you click on a link and it goes hello and when you click on it it comes up with another one and it keeps going like that for ages. There isn't but still, there shouldn't be pop-ups allowed at all just for that reason.

I hate pop-ups. They often leave spywear and crap on your computer. I ahve spybot and If i google something and get pop ups it always finds these stupid adwear programs it puts on the computer!

Pop-Ups

I mean pop-up alerts.  They don't leave anything on the computer after leaving.

Pop-Ups

You mean like those things that come up that say "Message sent" when you send a PM?

Pop-Ups

Oh those pop-ups are ok. I was talking about different ones, they are usualy for online gambling, or saying you have sywear and it will fidn it and stuff.
Message sent things are all good.

Pop-Ups

yeah alerts are fine.

Pop-Ups

Not when they keep going and there's no way out of them. You know, you click okay and another one comes up and they don't stop coming up?

Pop-Ups

Does that happen with the Message sent pop-up's?, I have never had it. I have had it with the pop ups form google and stuff.

Pop-Ups

There's one easy way I know to stop this.  Get firefox, than, you want to download Adblock Plus on the firefox downloads section.

Pop-Ups

i hate those.

Pop-Ups

I am going to get Mozilla Add ons and see if that stops some of them.

Pop-Ups

I advise you get firefox only.  You don't need the who Mozilla Suite.  Adblock is perfect for these things.  I btw, have stopped tons of unnessicary pictures from being shown (such as 2330 instances of JJJs avatar, and 1458.  Of all the other ones, the max is 111.  So, JJJ, I advise you at least, to get a pretty small picture as your pictures take up 3/5 of all the avvies I've blocked.  I haven't even blocked 200 real pop-ups yet and today only, I have viewed 651 pages.  I got adblocker 3 days ago, but I don't know how many pages I surfed those days (as I didn't have the other extenstion that I have).)

My dad has installed enough pop-up/ad blockers on the computer to sink a ship.

Pop-Ups

lol. my dad try's to do that, but infact usualy is installing free products that turn out to be bad things themselves.

I got this pop up blocker that works sooooo well. Though, it kinda kills every pop up that ever come up, so you have to press ctrl if you want a certain pop up to pop up.

oooh, pop up to pop up, >.<, that took a while to type.

Pop-Ups

Yea. I know what you mean, When I get popups it is hard to get the ones I want to work coz of all the blockers.

Pop-Ups

Yup! And I very much agree with all of you - to hell with pop ups!

Pop-Ups

Except for cool pop ups, like message sent, new mail, etc...

Pop-Ups

Just to clarify, those aren't pop-ups, they are alerts.  Alerts are made by javascript to tell somebody a message.

Pop-ups, on the other hand can be deleted by using Firefox and Adblock Plus (an extension).  It kills 99% of pop-ups and AD BANNERS.  How does it do this?  It blocks certain images and even certain websites (no good ones though) so that you don't have to see them.  I advise getting the lists of ads to be blocked.  I've only seen one, and that's because it was such a specific image name for a certain site.  I ended up personally blocking it myself.  Another good thing, is that you can block any image you want to.  I have blocked most of the avatars on this site (17000 total avatars blocked) and wow, I look at a lot.

Havvy really likes the Firefox AdBlock thing, doesn't he?

Pop-Ups

yea, but it does do a good job.

Pop-Ups

But he's already mentioned it three times!

Pop-Ups

ok, so he is  realy a internet sales person for mozilla, and he is trying to pitch it!

Pop-Ups

Why would you want to 'sell' Mozilla. It's free, isn't it?

Pop-Ups

lol. I was joking, you dont need to be so literal. I think it is free.. mine was.

Pop-Ups

It's probably just all the add-ons that you have to buy. Why would you buy add-ons though? Most sites I go to don't even have pop-up advertisements.

Pop-Ups

lol, There are add-ons you have to buy.  I haven't found any yet though.  Everything on Mozilla is free.  You have to search the web if you want to find one that costs money.

Pop-Ups

Why would you look for something that costs money though? I found this really good website for getting add-ons and stuff. www.download.com It's pretty good, but I've only used it once, so I don't know too much yet.
