Is it allowed? I want people to be able to see my story, and comment on it, even though it isnt finished yet.

Yes it's allowed, you can tag it as a demo.

Be aware though, that some nuckleheads will make dumb comments, such as 'this game isn't even finished yet' - in spite of the fact that you are telling them up front that it's an unfinished demo...

I wouldn't insult people who state that a story isn't as pleasurable to read because it's unfinished. I personally hate demos and would always rather wait for a finished product.

Although it's allowed, it's frowned upon. I'm moving this to newbie central :)

I agree. However, since I am a newbie, I don't understand how things work (i.e. the advanced editor) so I really need someone to "check my work" so-to-speak and give me ideas of how to improve. Maybe there sould be a "Unfinished" Catagory?

I'm having lots of fun building my story, and appricate everyone's help!

If you send someone a link of your storygame, he'll be able to play it, so you can have someone test it without publishing it.

I was wondering how you wrangled playtesters - good to know!

Publishing “unfinished” stories are frowned upon.  - Still an author should always have a second pair of eyes check their work.

I offer the following solution:

The Editor and Co-author Connection

If you require the assistance of an “editor” or “co-author” make your request known here, on this thread. You can also post the URL of your “unpublished” story here too!

This should help keep the demos tag, for tagging “demos” and also cut down on the “publishing” and “re-publishing” annoyances.

SindriV has agreed to help me!

Still, if others don’t want to beg, they can simply list and “ad” here.

October sent me this link:http://www.chooseyourstory.com/help/articles/article.aspx?ArticleId=34

It's a "who's who" for CYS and discusses “play-testers” and “co-authors”. Maybe it will help others as it did me.

Thanks, October!
