Its a book written by Neil Gaiman. Its about a boy whose family is murdered by a man named Jack and he is taken in by the ghosts that live in the Graveyard. I read half of the book through a graphic novel and I'll most likely read the rest when I can find the book itself or the other half of the graphic novel.
This is a great book. Won a Newbery, too. Pissed off a bunch of old ladies where I work who thought it was "too dark" and "not wholesome/educational enough" to deserve the award. Also "not appropriate for children."
To which I say, read the Sandman graphic novels.
Cool I'll have to pick it up then. I was enjoying the first graphic novel. I liked how it mixed different legends and myths together while still being rather original.
If you like riffing on myths and legends, try American Gods, too.
(caveat: sandman is definitely NC-17)
I hear they're trying to make another Sandman movie, this time David Goyer and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
