Has anyone ever heard of those old scary story books written by some man named Alvin Schrwatz, or spelled similar? haha. But, I believe i sent some videos of animation done from his stories that someone made on youtube. I'll re send them to some people, there short stories that some are stupid, some are a little scary, some are suspenseful, but the videos leave an interesting vibe to the viewers solely due to the animation, which is very well done

So.... Has anyone head of them? I'll send over the videos

I just looked him up. Those are some creepy drawings. I'm glad I didn't see them as a kid!

Yeah....he's really good at drawing! *shudder*

I read one of those books, and if you made it into a movie, it would be reeeal scary. But I didn't find them scary. I don't really like scary stories (there are exceptions!) His pictures REEEEAAALLY creeped me out though. They were done very well, but I was usually thinking how many nightmares I was going to have tonight rather than how good they were. I really am not very parial to scary stories, but heres my favorite one:

"So once there was 2 kids who had a sleep over. They left the window open, and in the middle of the night, a lady crawled up to the window. She had red, red lips and loooooong green fingers. And she said. "Ya wanna know what I do with my red red lips and long green fingers?" and the kids slammed the window.

"The next night the lady came up to the window and said " ya wanna know what i do with my red red lips and long green fingers?" And the kids slammed the window.

"And the NEXT night the lady came up to the window and said: "YA WANNA KNOW WHAT I DO WITH MY RED RED LIPS AND LOOOONG GREEN FINGERS?!" and the kids said NO! and tried to slam the window BUT IT WAS TO LATE!

"Bllblblblblbbbbbllllllblblblblblbbl."

The end. HAHAHA. Get it? It's better in real life. You put your finger up to your mouth and go "blblblblblblblblblbl"

hahahaha....

But that could be the sound of blood dripping on the floor.

Yes I have heard of him before and looked at his drawings as a kid. They were quite scary but always interested me. As long as the movie was done correctly then I would love it.

Oh my goodness!  I actually found one of his books, 'More Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark,' in a free-bin at a garage sale.  I was like 10.  I had nightmares for years afterwards, though that didn't stop me from memorizing half the stories to tell to my younger sister's friends during sleep overs (they were all like 2 years younger).  I wish I still had it, I think my mom confiscated it.  The art is amazing.  Seriously, remembering that book makes me want to get a tattoo of his art.

Always wondered if someone that created new D&D monsters saw the pic from that book and got the idea to make the Atropal (An undead stillborn god)

Poe was scary? I always thought he was more of an artistic writer. He knew how to paint a picture and set the mood in his storys.
