SPOILER WARNING
Just finished playing episode 3. And well... I have to say I'm terribly disappointed. Not that the other two episodes were good either. Honestly this is probably the worst steaming pile of crap telltale has laid. It pains me to say this, since I respect them so much for season 1, but: Telltale has been going downhill after season 1 of TWD. Season two was pretty good but still had its fair share of dull, uninteresting characters. i.e Mike, Bonnie, Sarita. And now this?
Telltale is either turning extremely lazy, or they're running out of ideas. Episode 1 of Michonne was mediocre at best. I did not care for whatshisface when he got shot. Episode 2 was stupidly short but atleast explained some character backstory and brought home that old walking dead feel. And episode 3 was a clusterfuck of boring narrative, and characters that still felt like strangers. And still, A ONE HOUR TIMESPAN! Did telltale think they could get away with this bs? Ever since minecraft storymode episode 2, telltale now thinks that it's okay to make episodes that are shorter than movies! Compare that to season 1, which had episodes span from 2-3 hours each!
Now don't even get me started on the choices. The final goddamn choice in the whole mini-series which they have been building up to is... TO EITHER LEAVE YOUR FAKE DAUGHTERS, OR STAY WITH THEM! The easiest choice in the whole series! No one in their right mind would stay with them. The choice of leaving them doesn't even have any bad consequences, either way, Michonne moves on from them. So the choice is literally, either Sam lives, or you get to talk to your daughters for ten extra seconds and she dies. What kind of choice is that? I thought the whole point of TWD was to put the player in situations where there is no right or wrong answer.
The finale wasn't even epic or heartbreaking either. None of the characters you have been spending time getting to know end up dying, except for one that you only talked to once this episode. And the fight choreography was absent here and included none of Michonne's badassedness from the previous episodes.
Everything in this was bland and/or uninteresting which made it forgettable for me. The only thing I'll give TWDM credit for is the amount of different possible outcomes that episode 3 can have. Specifically at the final confrontation with Norma.
So anyways, now that I'm done rambling, give me your thoughts. Do any of you disagree?
