I'm new to this forum and Storygames. Can anyone recommend some good, insightful works that focus on conversation in particular or character development? They don't need to be "storygames" only but any choice based, even text-adventures, will do. Suggestions much appreciated!

Eternal and Dead Man Walking are easily the most expansive games on the site.
I felt that The Secret of Daphne had a great protagonist and CharDev, so that's definitely worth checking out.

Otherwise, I'd recommend almost any of the featured games. Welcome to the site!

The above listed are pretty acclaimed, I'd think reading their stories might fulfill your need. Like Tan said, any featured story is great, and you can find most (but not all, mind you) in the randomly-generated 'Top Rated Storygames' category on the site.
