Story Idea: The Reunion Conflict.

Please try and help me with my story, here's the setting.

Upon Earth, an ecological collapse has struck the planet and marked the end of the Golden Age of Mankind as it was forced to leave the planet with what numbers they could take and unwillingly condemned those masses unlucky enough to not able to gain a seat upon the exodus fleet. Populated by the most skilled of their fields of science, military, economy, and leadership, the last remnant of a technological civilization left the solar system.

Millenia later and the coordinates of Earth are lost to history, regulated to mere religious dogma as the descendants of the exodus fleet attempt to rebuild their civilization, their society and culture amongst the stars. The vast distances between these ember of light and life transformed the exodus fleet into several interstellar nations who forge alliances, trade, and war against one another over what resources remained.

However, they would be shocked to the very core when a seemingly routine survey expedition sent the interstellar craft to the Sol system and found that life upon Earth not only survive the ecological collapse, but the forsaken humanity had even thrived and built with their own hands a new civilization on the cusp of space travel. These were the humans of the early Twenty-First Century.

Once the location of Earth spread to the other worlds of humanity, the three powers that make up the star born relocated to Earth space to discuss this new revelation. Twenty-First Century humanity could only describe these nations from the vaguest details of their government as they understood it: The Republic, the Federation, and the Congregation.

The Federation, at best a loose alliance of numerous planetary nations and interstellar corporations with nation-state powers, advocates a solution of coexistence with their lost cousins to share both their technology and the planet with them so that both may flourish and prosper. The Republic, a near totalitarian dictatorship, decreed that these non-space farers of humanity should be wiped out from existence to make room for those who have survived the rigorous hardships of interstellar space to ensure their own survival. The Congregation, a new nation built by fundamental extremists upon the foundation of an older religion that had preached Earth as a metaphor and was rocked to its very core from its revelation, preached that there should be no attempts to land or even contact with their unsullied brethren who make the holy land of Earth their home. That further contamination from the star-born would only bring about the wrath of the gods for the crime of robbing the pure innocence from these blessed people.

The Republic, angered at the lack of progress with the talks, began a full scale invasion of the Earth with mass artillery strikes against the planet-bound humanity to ensure success of their global landings. The Federation retaliated with their own counterattacks and landings to curb the advances of the Republican military. Crying out the crimes of blaspheme and sacrilege, the Congregation attacked both sides for bringing sin to the holy land of Earth.

To those upon Earth who had barely survived the oping volleys of the conflict and fought for the basic right to exist, it was dubbed the First Interstellar War or more popularly known as the Star War.

A lifetime has past since the start of the war and the Earth is divided between the three nations. The Federation perform delicate diplomacy with the planet-bound humans of Earth for coexistence and alliance for future prosperity and peace. The Republic continue their genocide of their long lost cousins to make way for their own people. The Congregation segregate the star-born from the planet-bound to limit spiritual contamination as they prey daily for forgiveness from the gods from sullying the holy land with their sin and war. In between these occupied territories are remnants of Earth’s military might surviving in the wastelands brought forth by the war in a struggle to simply survive this new-found world of terrible war.

This is a really good setting for a story and you've clearly put effort into it. I like the sound of these different groups competing for what they believe is right. It's nice to see somebody writing more than a few lines about their story before asking others for their opinion on it.

I think there's a great opportunity here for branching pathways and endings where different groups win. Depending on what happens the people of Earth could be exterminated, share the advanced technology or just left alone.

I might not be the best person to ask for help, but what do you need help with, exactly? Other people might be able to help you.

Thanks so much for your compliments! I seriously thought people would hate the story. Also, the help I am looking for is someone to frequently update me on how the story is going, and also it's gonna be on the advanced editor. So I need an expert scripter to help.
