How linear would this hypothetical story be?

I notice that story ratings get the crap kicked out of them for linearity. So on a scale of 1 to 100, with 1 being "Only an obsessive fanboy would ever try to read that many paths!" and 100 being "This story is a one-way railroad that hardly even turns!" how linear would you consider a story with a vast majority of it being the same adventure with different possible interactions, but two paths after that whose 4 or 5 epilogue endings will vary depending on which items you decided to pick up along the way?

To answer that question, we would need an actual example.

There are several pages of you journeying to the land of Anitoch. You can do different things, but in the end, you're still going to the same place. when you get to anitoch, there are two, much shorter ways to go, and the endings you get are determined entirely by what items you picked up while doing different things on your journey.

Are you talking about Eternal? It's basically the same story from different perspectives+different outcomes and the same main character.

The Item idea is a good one. I'll make a note of that. :p
