So I'm mid planning stages for a storygame, currently I'm setting a template for character creation (duh?). The template is such:

Characters:

Name

Age

Nationality

Physical description

Personality

Back Story is "back story" one word or two?

Gear

Can you think of anything critical I missed for the template? (yes, I know where they are going in the plot) Thanks in advance.

You seem to have quite a bit there already (though I would personally change "back story" to "origin"). If you wanted to be more specific, you could include things like blood type, likes/dislikes or relationships (the latter two would be more for pre-set aspects of the plot and character development).

This is for a 'Storygame' right? Most of that seems to specific unless you plan on doing a LOT of scripting.

Naw, you don't need to script it. It's a base for making a cast of characters, I suspect.

One of the benefits of RPing is that you are able to make character sheets and the like, which are helpful in a story.
