Editor/Play-Tester Commentary

I'd like to take this opportunity to tell you guys that I want to be active as an editor and play-tester on this website. Just PM me. But, bear the following in mind:

- Put a decent amount of effort into your storygame.
- Only ask me to edit or test storygames that are ready for publishing after editing.
- Make sure to credit me as an editor in the description for your storygame.

I did post that there as well, but since thus was a no rails thread I posted here. You're probably right, though.

Huh. So you did. Maybe in a thread of its own, not as an aside in a thread about your storygame?

Probably. I would feel guilty for posting so much in he Writing Workshop, though. (>_<)

You're offering to help people here! I really think it's fine. ^_^

What she said, but yeah, and what is your definition of 'Editor?"

That's up to the person making the request for editing. If you only want me to go over your spelling, punctuation and grammar, that's fine. If you'd prefer me to do everything from the aforementioned above, play-testing game mechanics, going over writing style, checking for inconsistencies in continuity, and so forth, that would be ok too.

As for being credited as an editor, it doesn'y have to be worded that way, just make sure it's clear I helped you with checking the quality of the game.

Seems reasonable. Editors aren't generally credited in published traditional fiction, anthologies aside, but then, they're getting paid. ;P

Editors get thanked/mentioned in the dedications of books all the time.  They just don't get their name on the cover.
