Hey guys, i have a question. I was wondering, how far has a storygame gone rated R? If you understand my question. I mean i'm thinking of writing a story with maybe a lot of killing. So can any of you guys help me and tell me what i can do?

Eh, no. There is a limit to how much gore we're okay with here, but you're allowed to push it pretty far.

Is there really? From what I've seen, as long as there's plot for it, you can mutilate just about anything that they show on Barbie and Ken about as graphically as one can think, provided it's all under the high maturity warning and such. (though I'm not sure Brennon's mom is up to the task of building a super-justifying plot or anything) A lot of the violent stories that have been deleted for being violent just sucked in general. Are there more specific thingies?

I imagine a 1,000 word page detailing nothing more than the deft scalpel strokes used to castrate a slave child would count as excessive gore. I recommend limiting that to a few hundred words at maximum. ^_^

No castrations, of course. I said Ken and Barbie shit! Provided there was a story built into it, about what the person was thinking when they were performing this violence, and why they were doing it to begin with, I'm not sure I'd be able to fault a 1,000 word description about a single mutilatory thingummy in a long process of mutilation/violence for doing much else besides being unsuitable to most viewers.

It's all in the details. (Unless you're adding pictures, that is.) Are you planning on describing each death in detail? Blood, guts, the whole works of gore? Because, if you've noticed, in movies, you can show people dying in kids films all the time--you just can't be graphic about their deaths, or if you are, you can't show them. There are cartoons that have gore, but it has to be played for laughs and brief, without getting too disgusting.

If you're just going to tell me "somebody died" that's not even PG worthy. If you're going to go into painstaking detail over someone being eviscerated, you need to be careful not to push too far into X-rated because we only go up to R here. (Same goes for sexual stuff. Kissing is NBD. A little innuendo only deserves a PG. A sex scene is an R. A graphic, thoroughly detailed sex scene doesn't belong here.)

Okay, well im definitely not having any sexuality. But, what about if i put just someone creeping up to someone else, just stabbing a person a lot or choking someone to death. Things like that? I probably won't have pictures either. I think. 

But wait, what if it's a kid doing all the killing?

Why would that have an effect on the rating?

I don't know. It's  because i want to write where this kid has a rage and kills for revenge and probably kill another kid and a baby but he enjoys it because it's his sweet revenge. Stuff like that.

Depends entirely on how well you write, but I'm going to wager a guess that you're not going to over do it.

No I don't think I'll  over do it, but when I finish it I want to show someone to check it if I go too far before anyone plays it. You know what I mean? That way y'all can judge me and criticize me if I'm not a good writer. ^_^  That is why I'm on here, you know? Lol. If I suck...I just won't get on this site anymore. ^_^

That being offensive is about who the victim is, not the murderer--and even then, it's generally irrelevant. Victims of a crime being minors is generally irrelevant to rating (it's still a human being that was killed, same organs either way) unless the crime in question is sexual, which you already stated it won't be.

I am wondering how you're going to justify getting "sweet revenge" on a baby, though.

That damn baby! It killed my unborn brother by absorbing him in the womb! I can never forgive that little shit!

Seriously, though, now I'm imagining a reverse-assassination attempt.

I picture a man with a pillow walking up to a sleeping baby in a crib, and just as he's about to smother the baby, the baby climbs the man's arm and wraps a garrote around his neck.

I would play that. I'd totally play a game about being a baby assassin. xD

Depends on how you describe it and how long the scene goes on for. Take the first Assassin's Creed, for example. It's a game entirely about hunting down and murdering people--but it's rated Teen and not Mature because it's not gory. You stab a guy, he bleeds a bit, you have a chat as he breathes his last, and then you move on.

Well the boy gets revenge on a boy that killed HIS little brother so he gets revenge and kills that boy and his family including the baby...something like that.
