Hello,

For a while, I have just been lurking on the site, wanting to look for ideas for a story that I would like to create, note, that I really would like to make this a good story as it is my first time being creative with this sort of thing. I have read story games in the past, such as Old CYOA for example, the Arborel Gamebook Archives and other stories from this site.

The reason I am posting here in this forum is because I am looking to create a Star Trek themed story game, however, with this game, note that I will not be using variables as I am not that skilled in using things such as scripts and at least not with HTML (although totally wish Python Scripts could be used).

So, I ask you all, in what time period would you guys like to see this go in to? Note that I have seen basically everything from The Original Series to DS9 and have had the opportunity to meet William Shatner, so I know Star Trek really well, let me know, and I will plan it out and begin to write the story, occasionally posting in the Writing workshop about the progress.

It's not your own story if you didn't make the ideas.

It's not a bad idea to get other people to help you brainstorm, but getting your entire plot or most of it from someone else is often discouraged... often, not always. I have taken on requests from people who didn't have time / motivation for a great idea. Anyway, this would be a fanfic, not a sci-fi.

It's a fanfic, so getting others to help him/her brainstorm won't do much. Unless it has fictional events and characters that don't exist in Star Trek.

Well, the point of a fanfic is that it's your take on the series. You're supposed to add your own flare to it, especially because you're already borrowing from somebody else.

I see, hmm, I did not realize that, well, thanks for that, if this is to be a fan-fiction story, I would have to review some stuff and come up with something that is different, I probably will end up making my own original story, but I will probably use the same technology of the Star Trek Universe, Phaser weapons, Photon Torpedos, Transporters Etc. And as I have read all or almost all of the comics I have a good knowledge of how I can describe what is going on.
