Making a Storygame a bit more game

So, while I've been working on my new storygame, I've been thinking a bit about the portions of story and game in a storygame. While I feel quite confident in terms of story, I feel that I may be lacking in the game portion. What I have planned so far for the game aspect are fights, puzzles, and riddles for the player to accomplish/solve throughout the storygame. Am I just over thinking all of this and having different fight sequences, puzzles, and riddles for the player is enough, or are there more options to make the whole storygame a bit more game?

Let me tell you something someone told me when I first joined here that really helped me:

You may be writing a Storygame, but the Story always comes before the Game.

I feel you, Mal. My storygame in progress is much more story than game. I'm working to ensure that the player's choices have meaning in the story's progression and ending, but it's definitely lacking in the game category.
