This Choose Your Story was created as a project for a university class. It is about whether or not one will survive the Holocaust in WWII based off one's choices. I chose to do this to bring in the elements of how pop culture portrays the stories of survivors and those that died. This idea stemmed from the graphic novel "Maus" but I wanted to make it more realistic and personal. I also wanted to show how lucky one had to be in order to survive and how stacked the odds were against a European Jew at the time. The directions this story will take, due to your choices, are based off of figures that both survived and perished. You have a 2/6 chance of surviving; choose wisely.

It was really good. I liked the history but got a short ending from getting into England. Then I got gassed. You really do have a 2/6 chance of survival!

I loved the history aspect, however, I managed to finish the game in under a minute. I got no enjoyment from the quick win, but I like the time you took to research all the information. The words are a bit bland, not much emotion is popping out, there is potential here.

The history about this story is rich. It's a well-intended narrative, but it lacks detail. There isn't a real charm to this text, or anything that gets the reader to think. It's a generic story that could have been fleshed out into something great. Even though I haven't seen many Holocaust stories in my personal experiences, I would have to say this is with the dissatisfying ones. I see so much potential itching to leap out of the screen, but it's just not utilized. I hope you find it soon.

While I do like stories that tackle challenging issues head on, this one lacked heft. The actions, which were terrifying, lacked any narrative buildup or tension. A typical path would probably have been a thousand words or so, and I do not think that's enough to convey the seriousness of the matter. I recommend you take a minute to learn scripting (the Reset function is what you're looking for, go through the basic and intermediate scripting guides in Help and Info), it would have made the outcomes and dice rolls that you built in via multiple choice a bit more seamless. I know this was an assignment, but if you would like to re-do this, adding more content and impact, I would like to see this story get a bit more attention.
