Player Comments on Nancy Drew, I Hate You

Okay, I noticed that one huge mistake was that one option can have very different outcomes. That is why it is so confusing.

Dude, seriously, be sad for the rest of my life? Have you gone mad? Literally? No better ending? *Sigh* Hope it were made by me, I would have kept at least 10 big reveals.

I always liked the Nancy Drew computer games (although I've never been able to get through one in its entirety) and also the novels. The premise to this story is good, but there should probably be more detailed descriptions of the places and people. Caught a few typos as well. My run-through the story was rather quick and I was surprised how soon the whole thing was over. Again, the idea is good; it just needs to be fleshed out more.

I hate these, "Wrong Answer and you die!" Storygames. They are like quizzes if you think about it. Literally the first page, (I don't think a spoiler alert is neccesary.) If you do not open the package, a random German Shepard with no backstory or purpose just straight up sends you to the hospital.



If you are going to make instant death pages, at least give it more dialogue.


And the lame ending, don't even get me started on that, you don't investigate, so that's it? At least the German Shepard had some consequence!


Prime example of why it should not take a copule hours for AT LEAST, a decent storygame to be made.

What the heck? I had barely gotten to the inn, walked into the ballroom, and I immediately fall through the freaking floor? That seems highly illogical and uncreative.

That was so, so bad. It was just barely playable, terribly written, had nothing to do with Nancy Drew (which we should be very, very thankful for) and was downright atrocious.

Poor grammar & writing and lots of bugs.
@Kiel Well, in the fandom's defense, "Nancy Drew, I Hate You" sounds like something a criminal seeking revenge on Nancy Drew would say. (Which would've been a better plot)

I have no words for how bad that was.

Game was over in a couple of clicks. Not a good sign.

It starts off okay but it seems the author got bored with the story.

I find it ironic that fans of Nancy Drew are disappointed, after seeing the title, that Nancy Drew was not accurately portrayed in this story. I am surprised you played it at all.

You really should be smart enough to realize that, if the writer put her name in the story with the words "I hate you" and ACTUALLY made it more about her as a character, it was far more likely to be a game where you violently murder or at least totally humiliate her, instead of a game honoring your apparent fandom. * (There we go.)

Um.. at first when I saw the title of this, I was excited. I grew up reading Nancy Drew as a kid, and LOVEDDD her books. Needless to say, this has absolutely nothing to do with nancy drew!! Even if it was just a normal mystery game, i wouldn't have minded, but it seems to me you were off to a great start then just said, "Aw, Screw it.' :( Very dissapointing, next time develop a plot and whatna. WARNING TO ALL NANCY DREW LOVERS/DETECTIVE GAME LOVERS!!! This will dissapoint you. ;_;

Pretty good story, but it's linear. Very, very linear. Not bad for a first game, but for your next games, try to expand the storyline.

Some spelling mistakes and a lot of random death links. If there's a way to actually win and discover anything, I can't find it. If it exists, I'd rate this higher.

Also, like 3j says, no one likes to die after making one choice.

A couple spelling/word mistakes along the way, but it didn't get in the way of the story. The plot and characters were interesting to read and I liked it. Good job!
