Whenever I try to search something on the Forums, I always get the "Query timeout expired" message.

Can you fix this?

Short answer: no.  Longer answer: you have to be more specific/directed in your request. 

Umm... you know when you go to forums, then in the top right corner there is "Search the Forums" button.

When you go there, you can choose what you want to search for (date, name, username)

Whenever I just type in some word, it waits for a few seconds, then says Query timeout expired.

What's up with that?

Use Google. The search here worked poorly even when it did work. :P

You can just use your favorite search engine.

YourSearchTerms site:chooseyourstory.com

If you're using Firefox, just use the Site Search addon...

I was answering you: The search here does work, you just have to give it more than one of the fields filled in. You can't just ask for "username," you'd have to go with "username" and "forum."
