Rating multiple times

When you rate a game multiple times, only one is counted, however, on the ratings list, you will see ALL of them. Fix.

I'm not quite sure what the problem is here.  When you rate a game more than once, only the most recent rating is counted?  Or the first?

Why would you rate a game multiple times anyway?

for rating purposes, the newest rating you give a game is supposed to be the one that counts. however, on the number of ratings a game has, it counts all ratings tallied.

as for why people would rate multiple times, before, authors could rate their own games, they of course would give their game an 8, multiple times. this would cause biased and always untrue ratings on a game. also, people would rate other people's games that they didnt like, and give that person's games a 1, multiple times. just out of spite. this would also cause an unfair rating. therefore, there are restrictions taht are in place for specific reasons.

Thanks for the welcome J3, Im glad to be on-board and helping alexp moderate the site and keep things running smoothly.

As for this bug, I talked to alex about it, and it turns out that what Rommel described does happen: you can rate a story mutliple times, but only the most recent rating is counted.  However, the number of ratings will increase the counter, but it won't factor in each and every rating into the overall rating calculation.

Also, when you try to rate any page, you will see that ratings are affected by a standard deviation, so, for example, if a game's current overall rating is around a 6, and someone comes along and tosses it a '1' rating, that rating will most likely be thrown out, since it is outside of the standard deviation.

Quoting Blizzard Entertainment, this is "working as intended."
