Alex what about this:  Your trying to get a new home page up, I was thinking on the right hand side or whatever you could have a list of the top 100 users and there points, and it couldupdate itself....  Then I could jus go to the front page and see, Oh I'm only 30 points down from solostrike, I'l go publish my game and put in a super feature and TADA!!!

And the other thing, could you check on tthe top 5 users post and see my idea about posting...

im not sure i like this idea of yours either 3J. i think the original concept of the points was so that contributors to the site could use those points for something. ie tshirts and so forth. putting like a "Leader Board" makes this out to be more of a competition. what if you were a newbie coming to this site and you saw that there was a leader board on the front page. it would be over whelming. some people just like to write and play games. i like having the points displayed privately in the "My Stuff" section is perfect.

First, Nate makes a good point. It is intimidating to a newbie. However, I do like the competition aspect.

Keep in mind, with the way we have our points structured, all it would take is a few Featured games, and they'd be in the top 5. I'd like to keep it that way -- if you write winning stories/games, that should bring you up high. 

To make it not so intimidating, we wont put it on the homepage. We'll have a Member Rankings page that lists everyone's ordinal rank on the site as well as their points.

A better way to do the competition thing is to have it so that everyone who has come in every 3 months gets put into there own leage for a competition every 6 months. Do you understand?

Like Major/Minor/Junior leagues... or 300-500 pntrs etc, although that sortof ruins teh point...

Yah, but it does bring in a more competitive situation for points.  For example, a competion lasts for on month on who can make the best game in there class.  The winner in each class gets 150points and the best person in all leages get 200points.  What do you think?

150 Points is too much but good idea.
