I think every 40 replies to one of you forum posts you get 1 point.

I can't find it but there was a thread already with a similar suggestion. I think it ultimately got rejected, though.

I don't think it's a terrible idea to encourage people to post, personally. The downside is that it could potentially encourage spamming posts or not making not well thought out posts, but the same could be said for the top rater trophies.

I do think that another potential source of points would be be appreciated, because it becomes more difficult to earn points after you've rated all storygames. As long as it takes a lot of posts to get points, maybe more like 1 point per 100 posts, I would support this.

I meant the amount of people that reply to one of your threads.

Oh, sorry. I didn't read your post properly, apparently.

Well, interesting idea, but I'm not sure I agree with this one. It's one thing to encourage people to post more but another to encourage them to start more threads. I think we would end up with more unnecessary threads.

I'm not really in favour of this feature. Points are generally given to members for doing something good for the community (being active, writing good, rating stories, etc.), so things a member has to do a little effort for. Giving points for forum posts would in my opinion only encourage more trolling and thread derailment.

Btw, hasn't this been suggested before?

Look at the edit above.

EDIT: Again I mean the amount of people that reply not the amount of threads.

Hmm, than I read the first post wrong, sorry :P Doesn't change much of my argument though. Giving points for making threads in the hope that people will reply to them will probably still increase the number of unnecessary threads.
