Ability to lock your own threads.

Now, I noticed that some people *hate* thread necromancy. So here is my proposal:

1. Creators of threads should be able to lock there own thread, which could help some people like in creating a roleplay but not wanting people to join as it's a WIP. You could even lock posts to WIP's because some people are dicks and reply to WIP's anyway.

2. Locking six month old threads. If a thread is older than 6 months old, than it should be automatically locked. And a moderator should be notified if you want to revive it.

3. Locking characters from your thread. Yes, it's like banning from some ones thread. It could also just pull up as say, a person doesn't like, ex01 user. You could prevent ex01 from seeing this post. Moderators can see all of this and if hate or anything is in these than the user that created it could be banned for a week.

Thread locking is nonexistent. Not because we don't want it- I'm not sure it can be done.

There is no coding that can be added?

Not as far as I know.

We would have done it a long time ago if it were possible.

I thought the coding on here was similiar to a forum coding like Proboards (if you know what that is).

It seems like the logic would be very simple -- if the date is > 6 months ago, don't show the reply button. What type of software is this place using -- I could likely help with the coding if its needed (or available, as I know the site is pretty old and the originators are seldom seen these days...)

Actually, its possible

Its actually possible. When you click the reply button, check to see if the thread created on a certain date, by a certain user, with a certain name, whether its locked property is set to true or false. If true, do not direct it anywhere. If false, direct it to the reply page.

Remember, there is almost nothing we can't do with coding. We are only limited by our imaginations.

So I've noticed that you can remove the reply button from the threads in the Rejected category... why can't you do the same with 'archived' threads (older than 6 months). You make sections like that in the normal editor like you do in the Feature Wishing Well.

Really old threads are missing the reply button.

People need to stop finding retarded things to be upset about.

Necromancing a thread is no big deal. Get over it.
