This feature was suggested by 3J and denied six years ago but I think it's about time it gets suggested again:

"I think that these Anniversaries should be celebrated by a messaeg from Cysid and some points.  members with ??? would get nothing because we are already addicted t oteh site or long gone. I could write the messages if needed. Oh and you only get them if you've either made a game, posted something on the forums or played a game in the last month.

1 Month on the site, 20 Points.
6 Months on teh site, 50 Points
1 Year, 75 Points.
5 Years, 200 Points.

Just something new that happens.  Might be a cool idea."

Well obviously the number of points awarded and when could be changed, that was just a template.

The problem with this is that EXP points were not meant to be a measure of how long you'd been at CYS but rather a measure of how much you contribute to the website (be that through publishing and rating storygames or suggesting features or whatever). Getting points for simply having an account, regardless of activity, sort of defeats that purpose.

I know, the one problem I had with this are all of the old members who don't come to the site anymore picking up points. Maybe something like for the number of days you logged on instead?

You mean the daily point?

Not really, something like this:

30th day of Activity: 10 Points

100th Day of Activity: 20 Points

365th Day of Activity: 30 Points

We could use a system like that so inactive members couldn't rack up points for not contributing.

So you reckon we should replace the daily point (365 points a year) with your proposed anniversary thing (60 points a year)? Points don't matter to me so I don't mind, but this idea seems to go against your apparent goal of racking up as many EXP points as possible without doing anything.

Not replace, just added on. It would just be a nice little idea like getting points for your birthday.

You get points each year for your birthday, though that happens regardless of if you log in or not.

I think so too. You could just not go on for 10 years, log on, and you'd have 10000 points.
