I saw this in another part of the forums, so I thought I'd put it here. I think that when you make a story you should be able to choose if the back button appears!

Really, really, really against this. Usually, I'd give you the long list of why not's but this is about the 6th time it's been suggested and I've probably put 20,000 words into this topic haha. Authors and Players are not competing with one another, you're meant to write a story for them to explore and if they want to "cheat" then they should definitely be allowed to.

I'm against this as well for the same reasons. Readers should be able to explore the stories as they like. If I was twenty links into a story and then died and couldn't use the back button (to choose a different path) it'd be a hassle to have to play through the whole storygame again to reach where I was up to.

What 3J said, it's about enjoyment more than anything. Disabling the back button woudl lead to extreme frustration, and would probably discourage readers from reading the whole story, they'd rather quit than play through the whole thing again.

I agree too. The games are about fun for the reader. A back button is up to them to use or not. A lot of players like to explore the whole story and the back button makes it easy
