You said something about a big Items upgrade like the one you did for varibles.  Can you give some info on this?  I would reply in the other thread but it is unacessible.

It's mostly stuff that I've been thining about. But some places I'd like to go with items is ...

ITEM QUANTITY:
Allow players to carry more than one of a given item. I think this could open a lot more complexities though.

ITEM CLASSES:
There would be a separate screen that lets you define a CLASS of items. Let's say, example, Meelee weapons. The CLASS would allow you to restrict how many items within a class the player could have at once. You could also define Item Effects in the CLASS that items within that class would use. Say, for the Meelee class you define an effect to say "if used on page X, go to page Y", then all Meelee weapons would automatically go to Y if used on X, unless you defined an effect for X on the item itself.

ITEM DROPPING2:
More advanced dropping options. When an item is dropped, the author decides where it goes: back to original page, another page, or gone for good. Currently, it goes back to roiginal page.

EFFECTS
Expand Item effects to allow you to choose whether or not a Use will subtract from the #UsesLeft. This woudl be useful if you want a page like "you pull out the bomb but realize it's not a good idea to blow it off here."

Can you think of anything else? At this point, this falls to the lower rungs on the TODO list. There are some other items more important (Help system, Who's online, Game Ratings, etc).

Item Dropping 2 - This is going to give alot of info.  Anyways, lets start out with the object moving to some other page.  Instead of showing Page Dropped On, Original Page, and Dissapears you could show it like, what page does the item drop to? Pull down menu for that.  Uses will A.Reset, B.go down one, or C.no change.  At the top of the page is a checkmark that asks if you want the item to dissapear.

Then there is the item can't be used here pop-up.  What if we could enter in our own sting of text for that pop-up.  For example a person might enter in this string of text for a bomb, (half of what Alex said) "You pull out the bomb but see there is no use after thinking about the situation.  Then there is the OK button. 

If you say yes to the pop-up thing I will introduce a drop item, string of text, Varible,Link, Or Transfer Page change.

Analysis takes a lot of time! I do like the idea of customized "can't be used here" text. That's something very easy to implement .. but the other features discussed would be quite a bit more difficult.

One idea I have floating now, is to make an item effect more like a Link -- you would get Variable Changes, Link restrictions, item drops, and everything else links have.

Ok.  You know what JJJ said about dropping items.  When you drop items like for example "bear lure" on a certain page you would go to the page "Bear Has Moved" or something like that.  What if you allowed pop-ups when you drop items.  Of course that means that you have to allow the player to actually drop the items.  Then it would be more practical to show that thing that says: Item Is Droppable?  Then a list going Yes and No and before it has some other things on the items page.
