Looking for creative inspiration

Hello! I'm looking to do something original for my first story, and I already have a little bit created. It's going to be based technically on the alignments in D&D, so there'll be 9 endings and your choices will take you on different paths. So far I have the character (male) waking up in a spaceship, and they remember nothing. The story (that the readers don't know at the beginning) is that he was found floating in space, somehow alive. The reason being is that he has the power to heal. So he stayed alive in a comatose state, and a spaceship full of space pirates found him. The whole beginning of the game is the player trying to get off the spaceship, and even if they want to stay, eventually, no matter how hard they try, they will end up on a planet I have not named yet. During the beginning the player can join the pirates, save some slaves, and other things. On the planet they end up on, they can discover that they lived on this planet and tried to go to space, when their ship exploded. The character was raised from birth by scientists after the original parents found out the baby couldn't get hurt. The character was meant to explore planets with inhospitable environments. When they get to the planet I want them to be able to chose the fate of the planet. However, I don't know how they will reach the endings and what exactly the endings will be. That's where I'd like some inspiration, and maybe even some co-authors if you'd like. Thank you so much for your help!

Don't wait for inspiration - you'll never get much done. Just write.

As for your idea, I'm intrigued. But I'd reconsider some of the details for your origin. A healing ability that could account for all of the terrible things floating around in space would do to you is just way too over-powered to be plausible for a character. Check this out.

A lack of air is a lack of air. There's no healing from not being able to breathe. If your character can survive without oxygen (and function), then he has more than a healing ability. He is essentially making his own energy at that point. Any unusual power like this (or healing) would need a solid explanation at some point, especially if it is unique or particularly uncommon among his species.

It'd be easier to suspend disbelief (if somewhat cliche) if he was found on a space station or ship that had been attacked or suffered some manner of malfunction. You could keep the healing ability without cranking the OP level up to 11.

I recommend sitting down and really planning this out. But I do like the base concept.

Agreed. Having a character start off invincible enough to survive being unprotected in space for that long would kill any tension throughout the rest of the story since there can never be any real threat to them. The rest of it sounds like it could turn into something interesting...though with just what's been described in the OP, you're talking about hundreds of pages. You might find you've bitten off more than you can chew there.

Yes, thank you both, this makes a lot of sense. I think he'll be found in his abandoned spaceship in cyrosleep with life support. I think that would be more believable. As for the length I'm aware I'm not going to finish this anytime soon. Thank you so much for your advice though!

Although this sounds interesting, except for the Main Character being a bit overpowered, it's also a massive undertaking. A lot of new writers greatly underestimate the amount of work a project takes, and either leads to very rushed games with only a few words per page, or these horrifying games that are released in parts, or demos, or previews or whatever the hell excuse the author picks, so take this into consideration when you're going with such a massive concept.

As for the actual inspiration, I've found it best just to write, and see what you come up with. Just start writing and see what you come up with. Try reading other storygames or just doing anything else when you hit Writer's Block, and never try forcing it, because it just makes it worse.

Ok, yeah I've debated having the character float around in his spaceship that failed, in cyrosleep or something, and as for the length, I'm aware this is going to take me at least 8 months to a year to complete. Thanks for your advice!
