A place to sit back, hang out, and make monkey noises about anything you'd like.

SOOOOOO, I recently got my drivers license. As in recently i mean 23 hours ago. But i drive to school today. First time driving to school on my own and I park in spot on the end of the lot. Well class doesn't start for about 20 more minutes so I'm sitting in my car listening to music. All of a sudden my car shakes. I look up to see this girl backed into me in the parking spot in front of me. I was STEAMING. I get out and look at the damage. Thank god it was just her hitch. She hit my license plate holder. (just my holder I only have temps on it since it's new) But where I'm going with this is does anyone have any funny, sad, close call stories from first time driving? I would love to hear them.

>At grocery store with mom years and years ago.

>Really excited to get home because I fucking hate grocery shopping and also Dad just got Runescape or something similar and we could've played whenever he found the time.

>Some guy in a douchey-looking red truck seems to have banged our bumper in order to fit into his parking spot.

>Spend 30 minutes hating the shit out of whoever I imagine the driver to be as mom has us wait for the cop to show up and get things in order.

>Police escort a scruffy old guy with a half-tucked-in-shirt out of the grocery store.

>Tickets and shit are written, over the course of the talks they're having, it becomes clear that the guy isn't well.

>Spend the rest of the day feeling really shitty for hating on an alzheimer's guy.

Originally thought you used both feet for the pedals instead of just the one to switch between them. Feet got confused and hit the accelerator making my brother hit his head against the dashboard pretty hard when I braked. Still waiting for him to get me back for that.

On my way to work, I ran over a hedgehog. Of course, I exited my cat and quickly muttered an apology before heading back off. When I got to work, everybody kept giving me weird looks, as if they knew what I had done prior to arriving. Nevertheless, I soldiered on despite the obvious whispering and backstabbing.

After work, as we all were heading over to the parking lot, my friend Billy approached me with a concerned look on his face. He placed a sweaty hand on my shoulder and asked, "Is everything okay? You've been acting weird today. Especially considering how you came to work today."

I immediately knew then, that they all had known about the hedgehog. I didn't know how, but they did. I nervously let out a moan before sprinting over to my cat. I quickly patted his head before hopping onto his back and riding off into the unknown.

Okay, don't do that. Seriously. Don't put a reply, then wait 7 minutes and then pester that person with a "hello?" Some of us are busy, some of us are working on games, unless it's been a whole entire day at least, just be patient.

I spent my initial driving months in the Ozarks. (On that note, I hate Missouri. I will always hate Missouri. I would rather live in literally any other state but Missouri. Moving on...) The hills and the curves and the horrendous drops near our place out there were what I got accustomed to driving around, but I didn't see a whole lot of other cars. Unfortunately, I did run into a considerable amount of wildlife and when there's a nearby cliff, swerving is not an option, so... yeah, a squirrel bit the dust, as did a rabbit, and possibly a baby deer I once clipped because even with the horn, he wouldn't move and I just couldn't stop in time. When I looked back, he was gone, so he may have survived. Dunno.

Hey, Missouri is awesome. It's one of the few states that can have 110 degree Summers and -20 degree winters. The state is in a constant battle with Kentucky over who can produce more meth. In the summer, you can get struck by lighting, run around a tornado, get a concussion from hail, suffer heat-stroke, and then drown in one of the many flooding rivers.
I also think Missouri's animals are suicidal. I've seen dozens of squirrels run from safety to a tire.
Oddly enough, this is still my favorite state (especially compared to Florida). The drivers are pretty good. The creepy hillbillies are funny. Gas stations make good pizza. Oh, don't forget about beer-battered mushrooms, fried ravioli, and the Cardinals.

Well I'm not old enough to drive. But I guess a pretty funny story would be when my mom ran over a golden retriever at an intersection. It was pretty sad I guess, with the family's house being just beside our car. But I couldn't help but smile from the way that the mom cried. Sounded like she was choking on a chicken bone.
