I can already see by scrolling down the page that every new member has their post that says 'hi', and I guess that'll be no different for me :). I just thought I'd introduce myself to the community, get to know all you fellow shut-in's on a username basis...so, hi haha.
Looking forward to publishing some stories in the future, so any advice you guys have is appreciated :). See you on the boards!

As for advice, my advice is to read every single thing in the "Help & Info" section before you attempt to write anything here.

Eh, I wouldn't go that far, the articles section is kind of a mess and a lot of them are obsolete or just cover things that should be common sense anyhow. 

Sardonist, since you seem like one of those rare literate newbs, I'll instead replace Ogre's post with my own, superior one; read plenty of the top rated stories to get an idea of the possibilities, seek out feedback and advice on your own stuff in the Writing Workshop, and honestly I'd mainly only worry about the articles covering scripting as you need them.

Just so long as you're aware writing a CYOA isn't something you can do overnight. Even if you're used to writing regular fiction, there's a lot more you have to take into account as far as plotting and structure goes, and of course just the sheer amount of writing.

 

Oh no, I'm aware that any well written work takes time and care. I've been reading a few of the stories here even before I joined, so I'm jumping into this with the knowledge that it'll take a fair amount of planning to construct a branching storyline. This is no place for undercooked, linear fanfiction haha. Like most writers I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so it's gonna take time to write something I'll be proud of :)

As far as the articles go, I've picked up a few useful things reading them, so thank you Ogre :) It'll take a while to wrap my head around scripting, buuut I'll deal with that when the time comes. It's nice to know I can rely on the forums for feedback though, you guys seem like a tight nit community here :)

As far as advice, all I know is that writing a storygame is very different to writing a linear story, so take that into consideration when you're constructing your plot. Other than that I don't have much. As far as having been on this site for two years now, I haven't yet published anything.

Of course!  Just from reading a handful of the high rated stories here, I can tell It's gonna take some careful thought to write something that's both entertaining and satisfying. Branching storylines aren't easy broh haha. You could say that's why I like them :)

I've been working on and off on a little project, and I've been planning to cowrite a story with another member on the site. However, I'm currently focusing on my final exams which will be coming up soon!

ah final exams, I have those coming up as well :P Thanks for reminding me haha...I'm hoping i have time to balance my writing projects and study, even if it means having a few darker shades of purple under my eyelids.
