So the basics of the story that I can remember as it has been a while is that the main character is a ratfolk who winds up assisting a middle aged man and a younger "chosen one" character on a journey to defeat the main big bad at the top of a mountain but I do also remember a twist happening near the end, I'm hoping someone will know what it is cause I cannot for the life of me remember the name

Might be Prophecy, it's the only one I can think of off hand with a rat person in it.
