Tar gum! Tangy and bitter :D

It also leaves an awesome aftertaste.

Lol, thats not pathetic, it happens in a lot of people. What's pathetic is I have a phobia of falling. Not heights, falling. I can be a mile in the air on an airplane and not feel a thing because I feel safe. I can also not feel a thing if I'm in a building looking out a window, or even on the top of the building looking down through the railings. What I am afraid of is when I step down from a sidewalk not realizing that the street is starting -_-

New girl on board!

(´-`).。oO(I didn't know that was a phobia) Then again, I used to not beleive anyone could possibly be afraid of clowns, and look at me now...

I don't know if they have a name for it, but it has the conditions. I can't go down escilators or steep stairs (I literally can't, its not that I don't want to, I can't make myself do it.) Tim curry did actually play Hewhoshallnotbenamed, I wasn't just saying something random.

That's not so bad. The worst is when they hinder daily life. A had a childhood friend once who was positively in fear of water, of any form. And seeing as how everyone needs water, her parents gave her water in tablets. Yep..tablets. Ingenious, but rather...sad.

Fear of flutes?

I like how a xenophobe is someone who hates foreign cultures, but a xenophile is someone who is attracted by it. I know its because of the same root word but it tickles me. My little brother may have had a minor case of scopophobia when he was younger. It might have just been because he was weird though, he screamed at mannequins for staring at him.

New girl on board!

Doesn't everyone get the creeps from mannequins that look real? Their eyes seem to follow you everywhere! Both me, my sister, and my brother used to hide behind clothing racks so they wouldn't see us.

(which is why I prefer the featureless knobs)

New girl on board!

The knobs creep me out even more. At night, if an unlucky soul gets stuck in the store, the knobs will either turn them into a mannequin to have more company, or rip their face off to have an actual expression, then hiding the body so nothing will seem suspicious.

*shivier*

Of course I have to talk about this at night!

I can't remember the movie, but when I was younger I saw it and it had a bunch of people without faces running around. Not that scary now, but at the time I was like five and was horrified, I still find those faceless monstrosities horrifying...

New girl on board!

I once saw a goosbumps show about it. that's when my fear really started up. But it was really from this creepy book I read.

New girl on board!

The mall that I go to doesn't even have the knobs. The mannequins there are headless, which I always thought was worse.

New girl on board!

I'm actually perfectly fine with those. When I was younger, I actually used to laugh at how funny they look and I'd think "Their heads went out for lunch!" or something. ha, I had such a twisted mind back then . . . and now.

New girl on board!

That's a bit creepy. I used to think their heads were hiding somewhere, just waiting for me to come near so it can attack me. or eat me .

Where's the phobia that you're being watched by a duck?

New girl on board!

Whats the phobia of being watched by a panda?

New girl on board!

I haven't heard of that one.

New girl on board!

As of now, there is no recognized phobia (By whoever names the phobias I guess) of pandas, but I do know that some people are incredibly scared of pandas, so it does happen.

Anatidaephobia

Aaaah, yes, thank you Bo. Apologies to all who suffer from it (because apparently there are such cases, if not, the term wouldn't exist), but I find this phobia hilarious.

New girl on board!

Phobias suck. I have a -severe- phobia of bugs of all kinds. It gets really bad, and affects my daily life pretty seriously. Especially now that its summer. I moved recently, but in my old apartment I couldn't go into the kitchen for anything unless my boyfriend was there or I was on the phone with my mom, because there were maybe 6 ants in there over the course of two or three months. Once, I tried to do dishes because my boyfriend had been having to do them on his own for a while and I felt bad, I ended up crying for about three hours and having a panic attack, and there wasn't even a bug at the time.

But you know what rocks? Canada's healthcare system. I went to the doctor and explained how bad my phobia was, and now I get therapy for free. :)

New girl on board!

yeah, you Canadians are lucky because of that. But, your books and stuff like that are way overpriced. Like by 6 dollars.

New girl on board!

Actually, I just got this book and Found In Canada it's sold for just 4 dollars more! Still...

New girl on board!

I thought that was just the crossover of currency. Like the Euro is worth less than the dollar or something. I may be wrong, but that was my first impression.

New girl on board!

yeah, we have to fly to Hawaii for that, but I guess it might actually be worth less depending on your local hospital :)

New girl on board!

Another fun fact about the American Healtchare system, which some of you might have heard of. I was watching CNN at the gym (I love how you can plug in headphones to the treadmills now!) and they were talking about this 50-something year old with severe leg and foot problems who walked into a bank with a gun, and handed the clerk a letter telling her to hand him one dollar. After recieving the dollar, he sat down and waited for police to arrive. The reason? The healthcare in the prison was better than the ones he could afford on the outside.

New girl on board!

Yea, see? And yet so many people think that updating the health care system is terrible. It works out just fine for the people in any country with universal healthcare, but you hear all these horror stories from the rich people, because their the only ones who are going to suffer from this (and maybe people who will never get sick in their lives).

I got sick a few years back, and had to get a bunch of test and procedures done. My bill was $45. In the united states it would have been -far- more. The $45 was for an ambulance, everything else was completely free, and I didn't have to do anything but show my health card.

New girl on board!

yeah. Sometimes I want to visit Canada just to see exactly what it's like there.

The system is also getting milked by those in charge of the hospitals. My mother went in one time for severe migraines that had been troubling her for over a week, so she waited for a few hours, got an IV for unexplained reasons, got several tests done, and then waited for about 4 more hours before she unplugged the IV, walked out, took a Tylenol, and had my dad (He used to be an EMT) to remove the IV still sticking in her. Then we got billed for all the ridiculous tests they took.

Also, another reason no universal system has been made was because of differences between parties. They were set up to recognize the differences of opinion between the population as well as making sure everyone was equally represented. But now, the two major parties spend so much time bickering nothing gets done. That and Obama's healthcare system was extremely long (did I hear 1000 pages or was it just 100?) so no one would read it all the way and he could sandwich in other democratic bills. That was a tactic used surprisingly often actually, parties would try to pass a big bill addressing a situation that the public is worrying about, but they sandwich in other bills related to their party that the other wouldn't ordinarily pass. That way, if the other side agrees, the problem would be solved but the other party would have many laws passed that the other wouldn't agree with, but if they disagree they look bad. This way, most major bils are denied.

New girl on board!

That is partly true, but most bills also have to be lawyer proof. Finding each and every hole, plugging it, and finding holes from the plug, and plugging that, etc. From what I could tell of your mother's billing issue, some tests are just necessary in order to provide the best quality of health if the circumstances deem it be required. I have a whole library of medical books, and severe migraines can be a symptom to more lethal and contagious infections. Yes....I don't deny it, some do milk, but considering your dad was an EMT, I think they would at least provided some ease of company as fellow who suffered equal hardship.

Oh, by the way, Euro is worth more than dollar because Euro is comprised from all of Europe. However, almost every country in Europe has their own currency that they use.
