Dust off a seat and discuss a good book here...you do read, right?

Inheritance Cycle

Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr, and Inheritance are maybe my favorite fantasy novels. I would love to see a forum game of this later. Thoughts.

They were fun to read, but the ending in Inheritance was disappointing. :c

To a point. It did feel like the ending to Lord of the Rings and some things felt unresolved.

To be honest, I read the last book when it first came out  and that was that, didn't really go back to it, so some of the details are a little hazy for me. :P I remember feeling that the final battle was kind of... bland, after all of that buildup in the other books. But the series was enjoyable overall. I'm glad that Murtagh didn't do the "bad guy sacrifices himself to atone for his wrong doings" stunt, and I guess it was pretty cool seeing Eragon become the keeper/mentor of all those dragons.

I really need to get on reading those Lord of the Ring books. -sigh-

Yeah the final battle felt kind of weird too isolated for me. I wanted the king to go onto the battle in a fiery storm in a mad rush all of the forces of the Varden charge in one last fight against the greatest they have ever faced. The making him understand what he did I thought was a little original. I just find it a little upsetting that I thought that Roran's fight at the end was more interesting.

I agree with the HISHE animators about the LOTR ending. They shouldn't have walked all the way there!
