Has anyone here read this? It's awesome! I'm sure at least some people have...
I was talking my friend yesterday about books, dreams... lot's of stuff really, and he brought up An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, a short story by Ambrose Bierce.
If you haven't read it, and want to, I won't spoil the ending, but I liked it.
It's about a Confederate civilian from the times of the civil war, and he's being hanged. He has a short talk with an officer, and he tells the main character about Owl Creek bridge, and how if it were to fall, the Federal officers would pretty much be screwed... It's a bit more then that, but it's got a good twist at the end... So check it out if you want.

If anyone's read it, what do you think?

My friend to me about this story, because I'd told him that I was trying to write a story where the main character would be dead throughout the whole story, but the reader wouldn't find out until the end. I thought it was original, but then again, it's really hard to be original nowadays. Everything's been done.

Thats actually quite commonly used.
The movie "The sixth sense" is a great example.

i believe shakespeare once said that there are only 10 stories to tell, but 10 billion ways to tell them. so yes, in many ways there are no original stories really. however, adding different elements can create a unique feel to it.

Hehe, no, disappointed in the fact that you thought I was serious about being original. Well, I was only joking anyways. Just messin' around all day.
