A place to sit back, hang out, and make monkey noises about anything you'd like.

Has anyone here received it. It seems common yet at the same time it isn't. I would actually go all for it with me loosing my glasses every month. Just all the side affects man, "May experience loss of eyesight for moments unexpected." Is what scared me.

Don't lose your eyesight by staying up all night on your phone guys. <.< I regret so many things.

Isn't the whole, "staring at a screen will permanently damage your eyes" a myth? Pretty sure it is.

Ultimately, if you're looking for advice on a medical procedure you should seek it from a medical professional. If I were you, I'd do it.

I had eye surgery in the summer of 2014, and I'm happy with it. I never experienced loss of eyesight for even the slightest moment. The surgery itself is painless and lasts less than five minutes. You'll be sensitive to light for a few days to a week or so afterwards, but that is the worst of it really. I mostly watched TV in the basement with the lights off and shades on for the first two days.

Just make sure you go to a reputable surgery center. If the place is willing to zap you the day you walk in, run away, far, far away. The legitimate places will do tests to make certain you are a suitable candidate and provide follow up services to make certain you are healing properly. Expect to pay about 2 grand per eye.

Staring at computer screens and such may temporarily affect your vision if you're staring at them for hours on end, but the body heals marvelously fast. Your eyes will heal from any negative affects from bright screens while you sleep.

My dad got it a few years ago, but now one of his eyes is no longer 20-20 (again) so he gets to wear a monocle.

If you go to a reputable place, you really shouldn't suffer anything so extreme. My mum didn't, and so the surgeons overcorrected and she is now slightly long-sighted. Of course, this doesn't mean that everybody can have eye surgery in the first place. My dad wasn't able to go through with it because he has eye problems.

And yes, it is a myth that looking at a screen in the dark will permanently damage your eyes. Before the age of 24(?) when your body fully develops, it may take longer for your eyes to heal but if you remove yourself from near-work (screens, books, etc) for a while, they'll return to a natural state. I find that whenever I go on a holiday to someplace where I can't access wifi and I'm doing to many fun things to read a book, that when I return my eyesight's always much much better. Ofc, if you have extreme elongation it might not be as easy as that.

Don't get laser eye surgery. I know it sounds cool at first, but as a man who's lost many a friend and been hella burned and chopped in half several times, I have the obligation to tell you that, no you can't turn them off, no, they don't make sunglasses that can contain them, and no, closing your eyes only works up until they burn all the way through. Fuck "May experience loss of eyesight for moments unexpected", with fucking laser eyes, you have bigger problems!
