Aside from the obvious choices of 3J, Endmaster, and BZ, who are the best writers here? Thia could include anything from Storygames, RPing posts, poetry etc. Just bored and looking to see everyone's responses.

Besides the obvious?

I suppose Briar_rose, I played several of her games, loved them all.

Madglee's mommy is an extremely well written game, and he seems to be an extremely good writer himself (makes sense, he used to be a teacher)

Sindriv's Homo perfectus seems good I only ever played the first four before I lost interest (Not a big superhero fan), but others seem to greatly enjoy his work

JMGskillz's star wars fanfiction was amusing to play, I mean, he basically butchered the series (I'm not a star wars fan, haven't ever seen any of the movies, the most i;ve done is read a single book that was placed right in the middle of the series, so, completely out of context. I also played a few star wars games, that have nothing to do with the original plot. But even I know that he just shat all over the codes of both the Sith and the Jedi. It's a fanfiction though, so it can be forgiven.) however I still enjoyed the storygames, and his writing has greatly improved since the first one.

Thatguy, the one who made the wallmart game, he's a pretty good puzzlemaker, and the wal-mart game was a great one.

Skysworne's stories aren't too bad either.

Urnamo's Sotrygames are good.

Donteatpoop's ducky park was hilarious, I think you'd enjoy it.

There are A LOT of people who make games on this site, and A LOT of games, would take too long to list them all.

Poetry:

Rommulus all the way, that poem he wrote for the sonnet contest easily trumped the other two that were shown (Not that i'm saying yours wasn't good- it was, but his was just that much better. Seriously, it was fantastic)

You're good as well, and BZ's entry into amy's poetry contest wasn't half bad either. As for the rest, I can't tell, we haven't exactly seen a trememndous volume of poetry flow through the site.

Lol, I Luved Ducky Park, The guy asks random woman if he can touch her boobs, lol gets arrested for sexual harassment.

Thank you for the compliment, but I don't see myself as that much of a great RP'er/Writer yet.. There are still a lot of screw-ups in my grammar that hinder me from becoming a well-rounded writer.

RP'ing is basically like practice for me to improve grammar, character dynamics, character interactions and development so when I believe I've reached a good enough level of those things that I still lack, then I will do my best to create a good storygame for the community.. That's something I wanted to do for a long time, but simply lacked the conviction to do.

Storygames are whole new plateau of endurance to me, to write, organize, plan everyday is tough, but people like SindrV, Feanor, BZ, Aeon, Drak all inspire me to try and take that extra mile.

Who knows I might even make WOD inspired storygame, wtih neat stats that can/will decided the direction of the story.

It was your Cyoa style story that made the deal for me. I'm way too lazy to continue such endeavor for the time it went on. It was beautifully detailed and a colorful or sometimes colorless world was easily manufactured in my realm of fantasy.

In other words Both your skill in writing as of now together with your narrative skill and perseverance created a what I call a great story.

I may have the skill in writing, but I still lack perseverance and good narrative skill.

Well I just got my desktop up and running today So I will be continuing that again. My wife has had complete control of the laptop since the damned desktop went out. So As I told nuclear, There will be a new update around 4pm, tomorrow at the latest.

Dunno if BZ is one of our best authors, tbh. He's great, but we have other great authors, like SindirV, Miccy2000, Senthaniel, Madglee (don't hurt me!) etc. 

He's probably the best coder on the site, but not one of the best authors. 

Well Berka isn't that good at making stories, (no offense) but rather games. Crab Arena and Dungeon Stompage were definitely very good games, and Dead Man Walking was fun but well, it's just another zombie survival story :P, was very well coded

Yeah, I certainly can throw down words mechanically, but prose and narrative is not my thing. Creativity is my thing :)

As for who's writings I admire on the site, EndMaster (sometimes the writing over the content haha!), SindriV, simplesabley, Briar_Rose, Sethaniel, tsmpaul, JMgskills, Madglee and others that I can't remember who they were, but I really enjoyed their stories :)

I haven't read near enough of these authors... Damn i am still stuck in Eternal lol I am going to have to marathon some of these guys shortly though. 

I moved this to the Parlor Room, seemed like a better place to put it.

I haven't played enough storygames recently to make a more informed decision (I started going through all the storygames on the site one by one back in February but I've been going extremely slowly - more new storygames have been published in that time than what I've read) but going off what I remember from ages ago, I'd say the best authors are madglee, tsmpaul and EndMaster. If JJJ published Tristan (a storygame he was working on which I proofread) he'd definitely be up there too. I can't remember OotMS well enough to put him on the same level as the aforementioned authors.

I'm sure there are others. As for BZ, I think he's a good writer. The game aspects of his storygames are extremely good, and the writing itself is neat but missing the amazing plots/character depth etc. that you find in the absolute best storygames on the site.

- but you Aeon_Spiral, are an excellent writer - you just need to be able to translate that into a published CYOA story is all  ^v^

hey now my Ego isn't THAT big :)

But thanks that means a lot. And I have a couple of projects for CYOA's (BHAC being one when I actually get to write more for it, though now that my desktop is fully functioning again IE: I can see images on my monitors; i will have no excuses.)

Maybe one day I will rival Eternal in terms of Epicness?? ...no..just... just no lol :)

Also BZ, I lose heart so quickly. Growing up writing and music were my only escapes, I had an extremely rough childhood EXTREMELY, despite being published at 11, those around me tore down everything I did. So having the confidence to actually follow a story through to fruition is more of a task than what the actual writing would be for me. Even if it was Tolkien in scale and content, just a self esteem issue I have. I am working hard to correct this though and I would love to get published again, been too long. I will work on a story game and see what comes of it. I would love to join the ranks of the elite here, for there have been some great epics I have read thus far.

also I know this is kind of blunt, Don't knock on someone because Say English isn't their primary language, or because of grammar. Think About plots and maturity of situations (not dick and fart jokes but how relatable the idea is to the setting, character responses etc.)

I'm pretty sure Awesome (famous troll) wrote a story once, unless it was Bob (likewise famous troll). And of course there was that parody one I wrote that 3J deleted like twice... and its sequel....

So, so, soooooooo many bad writers on this site, it's really just way too many to name. It would be impossible to single out the worst out of the huge crowd of badness.

Really there are that many?

Have you seen most of the games on this site? They're around Arrow's level. The bad ones far outweigh the few in number.

hmm no I've only read BZ's End's 3j's and a few other various stories here. I am working on getting more under my belt. Yyouu  guysy occupy most of my time in the forums so. :)

You could always set your filter to find stories rated 5 and above. They're usually good then.

Someday, I intend to be on that list. xD Or... at least get an honorable mention.
