Questions about a storygame? Thoughts on Eternal? Any other IF you're playing out there?

Writing a good story.

Truth be told, I'm more impressed by ability to write and story than I am by the implementation of items, scores, and other variables.  To me, the best games are as easy as reading those old "choose your own adventure" books back in the 80s.  that's why I don't think twice about featuring a game like lite space, 331 Oakmount, or Day in hell, despite their lack of features.  THOSE are the stories that this website was truly made for.

So listen!  Don't stress too hard about making it a game or a story that's very interactive.  As fun as it may be, it can be time consuming, tricky to write, and (frequently) tossed on the back burner after you realize JUST how long it's actually going to take to do (e.g. Dungeons and Dragoons).  We need story games in Love and Dating and Fan Fiction: if you want a featured game, just think of a solid story, forget about items, and start writing.  if you want inspiration, go play 331 Oakmount drive.
