Chris' Spring Thing Contest Entry

So, I've officially entered the contest. Here's hoping I won't flake out.

Story idea is something I thought of a while ago, but haven't expanded until now. It's another entry into the universe of TechNOIR which, for those who haven't read it, was a cyberpunk noir story. This time around you'll be playing as a cybernetic ronin with a knack for hacking who's looking to avenge his fallen master.

So far fancy title page made, first page written, second page being worked on, idea still being formulated in my mind, and no clue where to take the plot. I imagine the first week will be spent thinking of branches and the like.

Will update this thread every Friday with progress. Taking a page out of Digit's book and keeping pagecount and the like in a reply right below the OP.

And first page for those curious:

"A storm is brewing."

That was what the old peddler warned his customers as they left his stand. Every night the inky black sky that loomed over the City was perpetually starless. Civilians sought out cover from the dark clouds that lingered about, the threat of rain echoing loudly with the cacophony of thunder in the distance. Hideous scavengers known as the Outlanders crawled back into their burrows beneath the City's streets, hissing at the clouds as if it will make them go away.

No one was safe from the storm, even those within the enormous skyscrapers that made up the cityscape. Only a handful of people remained outside, some out of foolishness, others out of the fact that they had nowhere else to go, but you because you were a man on a mission. It has been a year since your master was killed, and there is only one thing that you seek.

Revenge.
