Hello there, Manu! Welcome to the site! Sadly, it seems like you cannot read the books without an internet connection. You can't even do anything on the site without an internet connection; all you get is a bland No Internet screen blocking you from reading all the delightful storygames on the site. Even continuing the story you're currently reading by clicking on your desired choice isn't possible without an internet connection, because it leads to the same No Internet screen instead of the page behind the choice. Hope this helps, and hope you can play some of the storygames on this site :)

Hey! I'm a Scratcher, and in fact, I was on Scratch before CYS, so outright saying Scratch sucks stung me a bit. Though from my experience, you are not wrong. Scratch does suck at times. Most of the commenters are basically YouTube commenters but good comments are even rarer to find because most of Scratch is children and saying anything even remotely critical about a project can get people calling you "mean" and "wrong" even if you just wanted a pixel platformer you played to have pleasing graphics that make the actual platforms clear from the background. Saying the commenters are like YouTube commenters is too true. Most of the games suck too, but that's because unlike CYS, Scratch doesn't have minimum requirements for projects so people can freely post generic platformers, genuinely terrible games with even worse graphics, and even blank projects everyone can make by just deleting Scratch Cat. Still, I think there are some fun games in Scratch. They're just harder to find if you're not already part of the Scratch community because most of the time they're not featured on the front page anymore. At least you can just make your own if none of the existing games are fun for you. You just need an account to publish them.

The very basics (Rock, Paper, and Scissors) work the same (and there's a basic Rock Paper Scissors version which you can go to), but then you have the crazy things like Fire and Snake. One matchup I know is that Scissors cuts a man's hair, but I don't play much R.P.S. You can figure out matchups some yourself by risking points.

Hopefully you got the job and the interview wasn't a disaster. If you did get the job, hopefully they won't fire you or pay you insanely low wages (or otherwise treat you badly), although I can't guarantee it would never happen.

I finally checked. It's still a thing. I just forgot to scroll because I thought last message was only days ago. Another mess-up for me! I hope I never do that again. If only I knew the actual age of the thread and who was in it then I can see it still exists. My eyes are mostly fine, I just didn't know it wasn't deleted or related to the deleted post because I saw it for some seconds and didn't learn it in its entirety.
