Player Comments on Greek Labyrinth

Spoilers below. I critiqued this story pretty harshly, but I would like to say it was still very enjoyable.

Grammar-3/8
There were so many grammatical errors, which is concerning in a story this short. One example is when you take Zeus's spear, his name is spelled wrong. There is also a lot of missing punctuation.
It also disrupted the flow of the story when something like "(hint use an item)" was added. The player could have easily figured that out, or you could have just mentioned at the beginning that items would have to be used.

Formatting-4/8
The blue text didn't make me as mad as I expected it would, but the story really would have been better if you had managed to integrate it into the writing.
Instead of leaving a page with no links when the protagonist faces the skeleton, just add an link to a new page in which the protagonist is killed by the skeleton. Dead end pages make a game seem unfinished or as if the author didn't care enough to play through it, even if none of those things apply.
I did like how, when the player attempted to use an item in a place where the item could not be used, it went to a separate page, instead of just saying "this item cannot be used here.".

Plot-5/8
The plot was exactly what it said it would be. The protagonist is in the Greek Labyrinth, and must face some monsters while learning about Greek Mythology. I don't have any issues with it, but I would have liked it to be a bit more unpredictable.
The story also felt excessively short. All the setup for expansion is there, the game really would have been better if it was quite a bit longer.


I'll give this a 4/8. Entertaining and educating, though very short.

It was a fun exercise however could focus more on imbibing learning about Greek mythology.

It was ok. I didn't really learn anything new but it was still fun to go through.

I did this as classwork and it was very fun.

I love this game. It is funny, educational, and I can tell that it took a lot of thought, hard work, effort, and time to make this game! I like it

i thought it was going to be boring it kinda was not it was fun and educational at the same time but it was a little short i would of liked it if it was a bit longer.

i thought it was going to be a game not something that's like a game but without the you know the codes like characters and arrows.

This game was pretty cool and I actually got pretty far. The only problem of the game is it did not have a lot of pictures , only information and I feel like if they had more pictures, more people would play the game. Other than that, it is a interesting way to learn greek and I would gladly play again.

My score is 300 this is why. 200 pts for killing hydra. This is the other one. 100 pts for finding gold. That's how i won 300 pts

Definitely way too short. This had a lot of potential, sad to see it ended so quickly.

interesting premise, witty writing, and interesting monsters, but could be improved upon by making it longer. I liked the educational information being in blue, that was a good choice.

All bout' dat money!

I played this because
1) I love Greek and Roman mythology and creatures and pretty much anything connected to them
2)It reminded me a lot of the Percy Jackson Battle of the Labyrinth book, so it was impossible for me to not play the game ten times.
The game was amusing and was nice that you could use a sword and shield, but there was a limited amount of options that usually led you to get more points, less points, or die.However, I admire the creativity used to make this and the common riddle used by the sphinx.

I'm sort of sad to say this is your only good game. Pretty sure Arrowsmith will be better, though. 5/8

It was ok, I like the monsters and the idea behind it, a better maze/dungeon could be made by adding more rooms, monsters, usable items etc and possibly a stats system of some kind to avoid the bad decision-you're dead end games. Good writing too.

I like the concept of it, but it was very short. I solved the riddle of the Sphinx and had no choice but to die...? The writing was done well, though.

This actually wasn't that bad. I thought, at first, that the blue FYI text would distract from the game, but it actually didn't end up bothering me all that much. The game, for what it was, was fairly interesting and I found no glitches in the scripting.

That being said, it's biggest downside is how short it is. If this had been quadruple the length, it might have actually felt like a fantasy adventure, but as it stands, it feels like a creative elementary school PowerPoint on Greek mythology.

"Please base your ratings off of what you learned instead of the writing" I and everyone else should be rating this euqually as we would to any other book like this.

The wrtiting wasn't great and could be greatly improved. The story did seem a bit random but this clearly isn't about the story, it is about teaching people....and it did do a decent job at that but it didn't teach alot. It could of had a lot more information included.

I managed to beat the maze after three choices and answering one question, which was slightly disappointing as this game was pretty fun.

This was quite clever. I don't think it was reasonable to ask us to rate it based on what we learned and not the writing. However, the writing was fine.

That was pretty cool. The skeleton scared me. I loved it.

DAMN, dude, you almost made me jump a little with that living skeleton. That was creepy looking. Brief playthrough, but fun.

I enjoyed it, but missed more of a storyline and it was too short (but maybe this is because I made stupid decisions ;-)

Very short, and very do-or-die. Should be taken down for lengthening and emphasis on plot.

Well, it IS a lot more well written than your other stories.

Finished the second playthrough in less than 5 minutes. :D The score system does not seem to work though....

I want more of this. I like the part wherein we have to choose a deity. Will play again and try other paths.
