Kill Aman's Mustache

Although I've never found this whole mustache thing funny, I must admit this was a pretty fun storygame to play through. Most of the jokes weren't really my style of humour but I did actually laugh when I found that weird dog in the kitchen.

The item descriptions were interesting, the use of sound effects and background tracks was great, and the puzzles were interesting. I can tell you put a lot of effort into this storygame and even though a lot of the jokes fell flat on me (don't get the Korean girl with toenail cancer thing for instance) it was entertaining and I could appreciate that you're probably making someone else laugh.

Clever and fun. I particularly like how you incorporate certain links to move the story forward in ways they wouldn't normally be used. Nice use of multimedia. I have a feeling I missed some secrets as I was left with a few items I didn't use. I wish I could revisit rooms, but that may very well be the point.

This game is the greatest random game in history. Nearly every joke can be found in the forums (except the pulp fiction ones, and a few select jokes that evolved from PM between each other), and every one has it's purpose.
Kill Aman's Mustache is a glorious joke, portraying a man's fierce melancholy from not having a glorious mustache, and wishing to destroy it. Oh, YOU (the player) may of come up with excuses, but we all know the truth. My mustache is glorious, and everyone is so blatantly jealous of it. Heck a game was made about how much BZ (BerkaZerka) wishes he had my mustache, and in desperation had to kill it. But I digress, let me return to discussing the game.

As I mentioned before, this game is the greatest random game on this site. The jokes are hilarious, and the mustaches that are shown in certain items are amaizing. Each scene has a plethora of humorous lines, and whenever you see Briar_Rose or my minions, I would suggest to press the back button. It's dangerous to see them, and you might get an early ending.

However, I have some complaints. In this game, it is possible to kill my mustache, which is complete nonesense. This game can be random, but I refuse to believe that it can be so illogical. It's crazy to think that I could be defeated. But, I understand BZ's frustration and thus I accept his game with an 8/8.

As a last note, please understand that my mustache is amaizing, and that if you do succeed, I expect to see your dedication to the mustache. My mustache is glorious, and it is truly a godly 'stache. The 'stache is forever, and it is great.

If you play this game, be warned. The mustache is eternal, and this game is incredibly difficult. Don't think you can defeat me without trying. You will fail often.

This game was brilliantly funny and subversive.

It contains many references to the site itself, members of the site the author is presumably friends with, and pop culture.

The game has a very strange and often random sense of humor, it genuinely feels like the whole game was a trip.

Just starting the game itself is a real challenge. BerkaZerka makes good use of fake endgame links, time loops, and mapped locations to create a ridiculously confusing but incredibly funny adventure.

I really enjoy just how strange and otherworldly the mansion is. BerkaZerka didn't bother to give explanations for some of the weirder elements, and that just makes it so much better. There's no logical consistency, one minute you might run into an enchanted garden and go to Hamster Nirvana, the next you might turn into a baby, or go into a time loop that then transports you to the land of the Shoggoths. The game also spoofs BriarRose's Tower of Riddles game, in the best way, by making use of the "baby polar bear in the snow" clue that allowed you to solve that game. Also in both games, there's a time loop that takes you back with additional text, but in this one, it leads to a pointless end, while in Tower of Riddles, you win, but that adds to the humor.

Overall, I'd have to give this one an 8/8. I loved every second of it. I loved that BerkaZerka was able to make the game funny and inventively referential, while also including an actual plot for folks who aren't site members and don't know the lore or the people referenced, or maybe for whom the jokes don't land. There's a plot of finding the unholy rite, the hair clippers, and the mustache. In order to do all that, you have to have the no-sleeping pill, so you don't fall asleep in the nursery, so then you get the quarter, that you spend at the Fortune Teller Booth and so on.

I'd give this one an 8/8. It was well done, both as a spoof on murder mysteries(loved that bit about "The Butler Did It!") and it stands on its own as a fun mystery adventure where you try to kill Aman.

This was a wild ride - I'm new here so didn't get all the in jokes but I definitely feel like I've got to know Aman's mustache! I also got a free trip to Vegas so that was nice. However, I didn't get to use all the items so I think a replay is in order! Thanks (I think?!) for this weird and wonderful trip.

Oh, I finally did it!

That was strangely intense for a game that gives you practically infinite time.

Although I was not around at the time, I still enjoyed it very much.

Pretty damn good.

The abundance of in-jokes made it a little difficult to tell what was vital to beat the game and what was simply a joke. While they all went flying over my head, this game was good enough to pull me out of my readingless lull and get back into reviewing.

There was some pretty clever item and scripting use, which seems classic BZ and something I love to see in storygames, and the puzzles were genuinely pretty difficult yet made sense.

There's no point talking about the writing other than it suited the lighthearted feel I assume you were going for, because it's more of a game than a story.

All in all, thought it was cracking.
