The best part of this game was the spelling. Other than that you could try to give us a sence of time. Also jungle 4,7,8 make a odd loop not sure if their suppost to, but it doesn't feel like it. The pictures really did nothing for me, other than distract me from the boring description. I see what you did with the difficualty, and the only reson I agree with it is the fact you randomly die from dehydration with no warning. This can be fixed by going to the varibal and checking show on all pages.

The play length does not inspire me to read this story. However, the description is nice. It is just a few sentences, but that really does make the setting: I can clearly see the jungle, have the idea of just going out for a vacation, and then getting completely and totally lost. Now I’m in the jungle, far from home, and I’m probably going to die. Can I find the cabin? I really like the setup and this has potential to be a fine story game.

But then things start to go downhill on the first page.

Apparently there’s supposed to be a picture. There is not. Thank you external hosting sites, apparently. And apparently I just spent the night. I thought I was headed to my cabin and suddenly got lost? If I spent the whole night in the jungle and nothing ate me, I feel a lot safer already, though I bet I’m quite hungry. I’m not sure why that was the starting point.

The pictures do start up with the next page. In a story of this size, I’m not sure pictures like that add to the story very much. After all, this is really an interactive fiction (IF) exploration, and you’re just going to be selecting directions. In a case like this it might actually be easier to allow the reader to use their own imagination to create the lands and areas around them in the jungle.

The map itself appeared rather small and had many ways to die in it as well. Perhaps that was the point, but for an IF story, it could be a bit longer with more exploration and fewer ways to instantly die: and a few didn’t really make sense. I heard silent footsteps, then died?

Overall, this is a nice start and nice attempt. There could be more descriptions and details on nearly every page. The hunger and thirst items might be more useful if there was a level between “you are fine” and “you are dead.” Maybe there could be a “you feel thirsty” level somewhere to clue the reader in to the idea that they should drink some water. I think with some expansion and improvements that this could be a very, very good story. Thank you for sharing it with the site.

You know, actually showing the variables would be very helpful.

I died from dehydration, after dying from hunger, from going south twice, and from eating the deer then going a random direction. And really, if the deer is the only option for food then it shouldn't have a death page for it.

I died by thirst when I was walking back to the river(which, by the way, I couldn't tell if I was even drinking from it or if it was a waist of time) after eating the deer. I had no chance to even get to the water! I even drank from that river before going to the deer!

And there is no point to the 'maps', as they didn't give much direction.

meh. Wasn't very interesting.

I enjoyed the map system here - yes, it actually felt like a map. However, most parts of the game seemed rather pointless. A burger stand by a raging river for no apparent reason. If you try to drink the water, the page loops infinitely.

Well, um.... I died very quickly, when I tried to drink water it didn't let me, and just... wow.

random unexpected deaths are never a good thing. I had just drank from a river too... How do I die from dehydration!?!?!
