This bug was closed 5/31/2014: hopefully the new text editor box will be better; still, a good idea to copy/paste to like notepad as a back-up no matter what site you're on.

"Uh, you broke it" screen

OHMYF*CKINGGOD!

NOT AGAIN...

Ok, really, is there anyway to prevent that "Uh oh, you broke it" screen? I worked TWO HOURS on ONE DAMN PAGE, perfecting one of the endings for my story. It was -perfect-, dammit. Just how I wanted it to be. Now I can't even remember a fraction of what I wrote. I am... so... pissed off... I can't even think striahgt. GAAAAH! I am off to TRY to write as fast as I can what I -do- remember which... ugh... seriously, TWO HOURS OF WORK. I barely have time to write these days as is...!

*sigh* I noticed this error occurs more frequently if I have the editor open for a longer period of time. X_x Like, again, two hours.

So, I've decided to just work on all my pages in word pad first, then copy and paste (... which means I'll have to re-do the formatting every time) because the editor keeps f*cking up when I go to save my work, but... >_> I'd like to be able to write in it for an extended period and still be able to trust it not to eat entire story pages. I mean, what's the point of saving if it destroys all your progress? -_-'

Turn off the rich text editor when transferring from Word.

You'll have to manually put in coding I assume, but you won't get gibberish and need to reformat everything.

Thanks, I'll try that, but I still wish the actual editor was safer to use.

Sorry to hear that, I've had it happen a few times too, but not after that much work.  Hopefully it comes out even better when you re-write it!

Thank you, I really hope so, too. I finally managed to finish that page again.
