Whenever I edited my profile recently, I added a photo. In the text editor, I cannot see the photo after pressing update. Also, the source button is missing (and I bet it was intentional).
But it's still there on your profile right? I think you're referring to a long known advance editor bug.
Also, the source button has never been on the profile editor, as far as I know. You need to swap to the Basic Editor to use HTML.
Yes, it still shows up on my profile. I guess whenever I'm editing my profile or sending PMs I'll just use the basic editor.
Its a Known Bug. You can turn off the Advanced Editor in your Profile to keep it from deleting your html everytime you edit - but it also means you have to use <p> etc when posting.

So... it basically switches from :) to :D? That's what it looks like, but I'm not that big on HTML.
