Well, it was mentioned in the Spring Thing, and I think it'd be a great feature to have, so...

Yeah, I'm not sure how hard this would be to implement (probably hard, so by thus less likely to be implemented) but I think being able to, with Author's permission in time of publishing, download a story game in a file of some sort on a computer would be a great feature for the site to have.

Reasons for having a feature like this would be as follows: A) Firstly and most importantly, being able to read stories on here 'on the go' (without Internet access) would definitely be fun, especially the longer stories. B) It would allow some stories to 'survive time'/the server. And C) It might help improve the reading fan-base of the site/make the site more popular.

So, thoughts?

Concern for implementation: A Drop Box program of some sort shouldn't complicate things too far - the only problem is file type, I'm not sure what a story-game with all the custom item coding and scripts would be saved as in order to work correctly and smoothly on a mobile device.

Thoughts: It's a great idea, and I'd love to be able to download story-games.

Concerns in order of high importance to least importance:

-Conversion of the custom item/variable scripts to a known file type
-Drop Box capable of file transfer which is smooth, easy, and does not hinder performance of the browser/application
-Bugs

They are the main concerns of mine (just an opinion based on my experience) - other "perks" could include multiple mobile device support and visual design :P but overall a great idea

I think alex said before that it's downright impossible to implement, but I could be wrong.

What's that they say, "all things are possible with enough time and money?"

Well seeing as we have a little bit of time and no money... I guess, it may as well be :)
