Nope, no reason for it. That's basically what PM's are if you don't realize that.
If you want to say something on the actual forums then it will be subject to everybody who wants to read it. Think about your suggestions before you ask for them. You need to give us* a real reason to take the time to add it into the site.
*By us I mean the people who would do the work, not specifically me.
