Historical fiction is probably one of my favorite things to read, and I've always felt it's a category we're lacking on the site. Too me a story set in medieval times or the wild west or whatever is distinctive enough to not just be lumped in with 'Everything Else'. And none of the other categories fit at all, except...I guess maaaaybe Edutainment, in some cases? But that's kind of a stretch.

There's not really a need for a historical genre. First of all because there's probably like 5, maybe 6 storygames based on historical events - and they're all...not very good games. There's also a "Based on a true story" and "Historical" game tags, which will be able to be searched for specifically in the next website update.

I've actually got three in the works, not that I'll ever finish them. But I like to think they're not that terrible.

It's possible if there was a category for them it might inspire more interest? Though I'll definitely keep the tags in mind, hopefully it won't be too long until they're made more useful.
